[WG] Single Premium Account

WG is going to introduce single premium account system for our PC trilogy, which will create a brand new ecosystem.

With the introduction of single premium account, players will get access to all premium features in all three games, regardless of where it was purchased. E.g., if you buy premium account for World of Tanks, it will be active for both World of Warplanes, and World of Warships.  

Regarding World of Warplanes, single premium account will appear during open beta (soon!). Open beta testers, who are active, will be daily given special tokens, that can be used to purchase premium account. Upon release tokens will be replaced by in-game gold.

  2. So pretty much a lure for WoT players to take a look at Warplanes because you can get your premium account there during open beta for free and it will transfer over to Tanks as well ?

    1. Beta is beta, and as a thing is not a final product, so can not be a part of a final service as well ... that would be stupid if anybody would add an unfinished product to a service that should be common for these that are released.

  3. Finally the real answer to a question I asked you almost a year ago (or was it even longer...). Then you told me it wasn't decided yet. I'm glad you guys took the right decision in this case. May your next decisions be as good as this one :)

  4. To be fair, I didn't really enjoy WoWP, however, I think World of Boats will be rather cool. And I also thought WT was meh as well, just don't like the way the controls are implemented.

    A great move by WG IMHO

  6. a) so... does this mean if u take part in open beta warplanes, u can get free premium acount for WoT ?

    b) whatabout free xp, credits and gold, will they be shared aswell?

  7. you also should prohibit free exp for at least 2-4 month. otherwise there will be people with tier 10 planes right from the start.
    on the one hand, this brings cash because they have to buy credits in WoWP, but on the other hand this kills the long-time-motivation, so it might be better to sacrifice those payments and make everyone level the planes.

    -why introduce tokens and not stay on gold ? Is it because gold will be transferable during open beta and you don't want people buying premium tanks with gold farmed in wowp ?

    -will cb tester transfer anything to open beta ? ( some gift planes or gold/tokens)

    1. 1. To eliminate any mess. Tokens will be given away for free (victories in WoWP), gold is a normal premium currency that is purchasable. Gold won't be transferable in open beta since there will be no gold in WOWP at that stage, and because there is no use in transfering WoT's gold - open beta is free. We don't want players to spend RL money there.

      2. Afaik, there will be a wipe. Gifts are for release.

  10. Any word on how WoT Generals will integrate with this yet? Or is it undecided still?

    How will the tokens for Premium work for those of us that already have Premium time from WoT?

    1. 1. Most likely it will be integrated in full as well. Right now we are announcing single account for the trilogy only.

      2. Premium account time will simply stack. Easy and convenient.

    2. Awesome. I don't really -need- it as I started what is hopefully a yearly tradition of buying a year subscription in the Black Friday sales, but it certainly won't hurt!

    sorry for the off topic, but please, for the love of God, reduce the GIGANTIC "vibration" KICK in 8.6, especially in sniper mode, my eyes are bleeding after one battle on the test server.

  13. Was the desicion to make premium multi game affected by WarThunder which looks like it will be a 3 in 1 game?

    I realy think this will be a good move, now you will build more loyal customers, and by that you will get a higher $ per player in the long run.

    1. No, absolutely not.

      We feel like it is the right move to treat PA as a service. Why those who have invested their money and supported us financially, shouldn't be treated as premium users in all our games. WG.net is a game service after all. So, this was just the right thing to do, regardless of anything.

    currently on RO I still wanted to thank WG for 8.6, I like almost every aspect of it, skill gets more important with generally less rng and more armor effectiveness, the tracking bonus is very nice, and I tried some arties and they cant really hit moving tanks anymore, but will still vaporize campers. even the new camos are nice :D

    so TY for this patch

    also I will probably buy the T2 german arty to make those camping loltractor pedobears go boom

    2. I am not so happy from new camos, cause there is no chance to change old ones into the new ones without paying gold once again. On all tanks, on which it had sense I already have camos, so new ones are useless for me. Would be better to have in such case option to change camo for a new one without paying again.

      So far I like a lot changes in battle report (nice to know what kind of critical damage I did to others). And of course, it is great that you finally nerf gold derp ammo.

      More feedback later. Maybe even after patch will go live, cause on test server there are arty parties in almost every battle, so it is hard to say that SPG's are weaker, when they still rule on battlefield :). But it is surely caused by the fact that many people test how strongly you nerfed SPG's and how work the new ones.

      just play the arty yourself for a few games, it is near impossible to hit moving targets now, except when they move in a straight line for 10sec or you know where they will show up(like mines hill)

    6. I haven't noticed any big differences. From all I remember from more then 10 battles today on test, it was working OK, I haven't noticed any strange things (there were 2 times totally invisible tanks shooting and almost ramming at me, but it was caused by some lags, cause they were on minimap).

      Big tanks behind bushes on Redshire northern hill were still quite easy to spot. And my Hellcat (camo net, high camo skill) still wasn't as invisible for enemy as I dream ;).

      Still better testing will be possible after release. The problem is that it is hard to play on test server battle in lower tiers, (cause most people use free XP and gold to play with X and IX tiers and VIII prems) and most invisible vehicles in the game are in lower tiers (Marder, Stug, and so on). In higher tiers tanks, TD's and SPG's are big and still quite easy to spot.

  15. Can't really say i like the nerfs on arty, they just make them more frustrating to play. I was expecting a rebalance, not a nerf that makes playing them even less fun.

    Why, instead of changing aiming time, and accuracy stuff, the balance team didn't reduce the damage they deal per shot, and reduce the HE shell penetrations?

    Might be a good thing to ask to WG balance team, if you are planning to make an article about it

    And again, sigh, test server. Yes, the ping is good now, but it didn't solve at all the queue issues. Yesterday evening i saw a max number of players of 30-33k, last tests it was 25k, i hope the increase wasn't of only 5k? Still, right now, on test1 there is a 15k queue, on test 2 a 18k one.

    This server need at least 50k, Ovi.

    1. Where have you seen such small queues? :) I have seen more then 50k queues on both servers 1,5 hour ago. Good that I today could play at 5 AM, so I had time to test some things :)

    3. Yup, 25k is pretty low. It's both about the HW and the fact that we dont wanna draw attention from the main servers. :) 25k is enough to test.

      damage reduction wouldn't be reasonable and logical because of the caliber size / shell energy. Penetration is already not great. Will try to make up a detailed analysis on 8.6.

  16. @Ovi: any chance to fix the updater? I wanted to play WoWP, but there is no full client installer download, and the updater not working is a very common error. It is clearly broken for numerous system configurations, while the cause remains unknown. I - as many others - can play WoT because I can download a full client installer. Could you please look into is as w WoWP go-to guy?

  17. Hi Overlord.

    Can you look at doing something about team killers in test, then move it into the main game?
    A low tier platoon (T2+T4+T8) with 3 guys decided to pick a fight with my IS-4, and I got blued!?
    Also in many test games 2 or 3 guys decide to blast each other meaning the team has effectively lost and the game has been ruined. I would like to see you increase penalties for high damage to team mates - for example a hit taking over 50% - but leave the very small damages that happen at the start of games when tanks bump into each other.

    1. We can do that, though it would be manual work. So such "transfer" is possibly only in severe cases.
