[WoWP] Japanese Planes Confirmed for Release

Japanese aircraft is officially confirmed for World of Warplanes release, meaning that there going to be (at least) 4 starting factions from scratch.

The inclusion of Japanese warbirds are really going to provide players with a wide variety of tactical freedom in how they play the game and combat other players. Players will benefit from the speed, power, and maneuverability of these planes as well as an increased field of vision.

We expect a line of Japanese carrier fighter aircraft (including Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero, the Nakajima Type 91, the twin-boom Mitsubishi J4M1 Senden interceptor fighter, and the three prototypes Kyushu J7W1, J7W2, and J7W3) to be ready by that time.

Waiting for the Brits now, heh?

  2. Will it be a case like in WoT, where over a year after release were still waiting for the British tech tree?

*Damn no edit button* And when you do get round to British planes, please - I beg of you - include the DeHavilland Mosquito (though it was such an awesome plane I'm sure you guys already have plans for it, no?) :)

  4. I for one will not even consider it without the Brits, too much bad history in WOT waiting for them has left a bad taste in my (e-)mouth.

  5. Uuu, Brits will be furious. Japans before them :)

As I understand you want enter Japan market fast with WoWP :)

By the wat I just realised that I haven't played WoWP for quite long. Something caused that I get bored with it quite fast, while I play WoT for more then 2 years and rather regulary. Maybe when I realize what caused that I am bored, I send you some feedback :).

  6. Stopped playing WoWP after not even 100 battles ... Reason:

The controls really suck! I played IL2 (more on arcade settings than hardcore) still have the same joystick and for the love of god ... I cant get it to work properly with WoWP. U cant even save controll profiles ingame, to make experimenting with different settings easier. In IL2 I just pluigged my Joystick in, changed key settings to my liking and toke off.

And to play a flight game with mouse and keyboard - lol

    1. For a non-sim game, mouse+KB is quite all right. As for the controls, we do have some issues, especially with joystick setup, but it's reparable and being worked on.

  7. I got into the Alpha testing of WoWP and played it a bit, and hated it a lot!

I thought it's going to be a lot more arcady and fun like WoT, but instead it sucked pretty bad.

I might just be eating my words when the game is out of beta, but I don't expect WoWP to be even 20% of what WoT is today.

    WoWS is something else. :)
