  1. "Note 2. There might a restriction on the minimum number of battles played."

As in, we might need to play a certain number of battles before we can use this tank?

  2. Note 1. WOT CBT started January 27, 2011.

Do you not mean that it stopped there? :)

  3. DilaZirK,

  5. Overlord - is there any chance for screenshots made after switching to english version of game client? Although I had russian language lessons in school I don't remember enough - especially reading cyryllic alphabet is something I didn't practice for many years.

And restriction on the minimum number of battles played - battles played before end of CBT, or battles played before end of beta, or any other date?

    ReplyDelete
  6. what the restricted number played that required?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Anonymous,

unfortunately there is no ENG UI for it now, you can compare the pic to the current specs of M4 in-game.

Most likely - we will take into account overall number of battles played since the softwipe.

    ReplyDelete
  8. So this is the gift tank? I was hopping an sloped armor Panzer IV version or something like that :(

    ReplyDelete
  9. any chance to get number of battles that will be needed to get this gift?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Gun stats photo cant be zoomed! pls fix ;)

    cheErs

    ReplyDelete
  11. Another tank ... for nothing. I hope that it would be possible to sell it with profit. :D

    ReplyDelete
  12. would be great to see the preliminary stats for the LOWE please overlord! :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm quite happy about that tank and hope I was busy enough with my number of battles :D

    thx in advance Overlord!

  21. looks great! but seems weird why the Turrett and hull have the same thickness.

    Definately going to buy that.

174mm pen is great and and 6.67rds a min very quick. Plus backed up by a quick turrett traverse and a quick track traverse its going to be a good contender on the battlefield.

    ReplyDelete
  22. anybody got the KV5 stats :D

    ReplyDelete
  23. 174mm is a minimum pen. it has 105 L/70 wich is better than the other T8 tank guns. Average pen 232mm and fast 6,67rpm I want this tank :P

    ReplyDelete
  24. yea i mean 174mm pen. me too. cant wait for it.

    You got the KV5 stats?

    ReplyDelete
  25. incidently its much better than the t54`s D54 gun in penetration but much slower than the 8.4rof of the D54

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hmmm, I must admit this gift tank is quite similar to a standard Sherman...

Sincerely, I would have liked more something much more different and distinguishable from a standard tech tree tank, especially as lower tier.

I don't mind stats etc., but I like the Matilda more just because it's something different (until GB tree is implemented at least).

    ReplyDelete
  27. Will this tank have the same matchmaker exception as other Tier5 premiums?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Overlord,
How many battles do a CBT need in order to obtain this git tank?

    ReplyDelete
  29. what is the second button beside the repair ?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well looking at the stats this tank is going to be horrible. Performance on par with a stock sherman, with a higher top speed but a shitty power to weight ratio and the sherman's crappy 75mm starting gun. Hurray for showing us how little creativity you think we deserve. "I know, screw the uniqe tank for cbt, let's just give em a reskinned sherman and go drink some vodka"

    ReplyDelete
  31. The million dollar question is...

How many battles does a CBT'er need in order to qualify for this gift tank?

    ReplyDelete
  32. can you upgrade the premium tank ?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Is there any chance of getting a German tank instead?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would much rather prefer a german tank, but thanks none the less.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hmm...but what can we do with this tank except that we can play with him? From what i know premium tanks can transform their xp in free xp but with GOLD ...and we can buy gold with money...what about the ppls who can't buy gold? what can they do with a premium tank that requiers gold for free xp?

    ReplyDelete
  36. can you transfer the crew from this tank to the m4 on the tree without retraining the crew ? since both are m4, or to the easy8 ?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Q: Is there any chance of getting a German tank instead?

A: No, we only this one will be available.

Q: but what can we do with this tank except that we can play with him? From what i know premium tanks can transform their xp in free xp but with GOLD ...and we can buy gold with money...what about the ppls who can't buy gold? what can they do with a premium tank that requiers gold for free xp?

A: All premium tanks are extra profitable. That's their main advantage.

Q: can you transfer the crew from this tank to the m4 on the tree without retraining the crew ? since both are m4, or to the easy8 ?

A: No. These are different tanks.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Overlord,
can we finally know how many battles we need in order to receive this gift tank, sir?
Today is the 31/03, and in few days WOT will go live...

    ReplyDelete
  39. How many battles does a CBT'er need in order to qualify for this gift tank?

    ReplyDelete
  40. This is gonna be the first question to next USA Presidential candidate...

"How many battles does a CBT'er need in order to qualify for this gift tank?"

    ReplyDelete
  41. Maybe 100, 1000 or more battles. Who knows...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi! "players who did a long way from CBT to Release will get some bonuses" means this tank-gift and... meaby somthing more? :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. ... + one free slot per each month of plaing, parhaps... :P

    ReplyDelete
  44. ...yeah, and 250 free gold per day LoL!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I hope that I can sell the gift for money :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. It got the same horribad gun as the t-14, can`t penetrate the front of a hetzer at close range.
Luckily it can be sold for credits...I hope.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hm...
    KV-220 was better:
gun - almost the same, but 2x more ammo
    armour - better
    hp - more...
(only smaller speed and turn ratio)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I believe limiting the gift tank to so many CBT accounts is unjustified and unfair and will be unpopular.

Unjustified for because only a small percentage will actually play their gift tank during the first few weeks, because the majority will be too busy levelling their 'real' tanks.

Unfair because ever since launch it was expected by the community that a gift tank if given would be given to all, not only a group selected by an arbitrary and unknown limit at the 11th hour.

Unpopular because of the above reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  49. It's a gift for CBT but who knows maybe they have also a gift for players too. To me it's fair for CBT to have gift tank because they are the first real test and feedback to the developers and the entire team to Wargaming. Anyways good job guys and thanks Overlord for this gift. I can't wait for the release ;)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I haven't played any battles since the end of closed beta since I wanted to avoid burning out on the game before release. Does this mean that I won't qualify for the tank? I played thousands before it ended, and it would be sad if only battles since January 27 2011 counted.

    ReplyDelete
  51. As Overlord said:

"Most likely - we will take into account overall number of battles played since the softwipe. "

So, you can expect to get the gift tank ;)

    ReplyDelete
  52. So apparently my registration date is on 27.01.2011, and I have nearly played 1,000 battles. Would I qualify for the gift tank?

    ReplyDelete
  53. >Most likely - we will take into account overall number of battles played since the softwipe.

Does it mean number of battles between softwipe and release or between softwipe and the end of CBT in January?

    ReplyDelete
  54. TBH, a gift would be appropriate to all the beta-testers exceeding a certain number of battles, regardless if they joined during the closed or open beta.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Q: "Most likely - we will take into account overall number of battles played since the softwipe. "

A: Yup, either since the softwipe or your registration date.

    ReplyDelete
  56. The m4A2e4 is going to be...unimpressive with the stock gun of the Sherman. Couldn't you guys have gave it the 76mm?

    ReplyDelete
  57. rusians got rusian tank, americans ll get american for sure so why the hell europeans ll get american tank either?
cant we get european tank so german?

dont get me wrong i just hate americans and their tanks, even this KV is hell better than this sherman ;/

    ReplyDelete
  58. Q: Overlod will there be any info about preliminary specs for tier 8 arty...?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I played alot of battles but did not start until Feb. I think I gold out alot of tanks and even have the Tiger II now, hope I have enough battles, I wonder how they will check all the thousands of accounts after Jan 27th to see if they have enough battles in?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Overlord,

What about the people who have near 1k battles played, but not quite the full 1k? Do you really see this as fair?

I can understand having say 100 battles, or something like that, but 1k is excluding many, many faithful WoT followers. Rewarding the few is never a good business practice in my experience.

    Thanks,

    Zenith

    ReplyDelete
  61. Overlord , will i get the tank - registered in September (last year) , 300+ battles.

    Best regards.

    ReplyDelete
  62. isn't it better to check on total experience instead of 1000 battles? A lot of players have played more than 1000 battles, but this was wiped with the stat wipe. I have 179 095 exp but only 282 battles after the wipe. Maybe it is better if people with more than (average exp per match * 1000) get it too.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Q: Overlod will there be any info about preliminary specs for tier 8 arty...?

A: Sure thing, as soon as we have them tuned.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Q: I played alot of battles but did not start until Feb. I think I gold out alot of tanks and even have the Tiger II now, hope I have enough battles, I wonder how they will check all the thousands of accounts after Jan 27th to see if they have enough battles in?

A: Will be using scripts of course. Not manually.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Zenith, Evilz

    at least 1k battles required.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Will it be possible to transfer tank from one account to another? I have 2000+ battles, but want to play with different nick, so it means new account, possibility to transfer it from one account to another would be really nice then.

    Kara

    ReplyDelete
  67. You are kidding me ? That's a bad joke.End of my story with WoT , no pre-order.This is bad taste joke.300 battles is about 40 hrs of playing.U won't get my money - too bad.

    Best regards

    ReplyDelete
  68. 1k battles in cbt? so iam afraid i wont get gift ;/

maybe even free slots for CBT but without 1k battles?

    ReplyDelete
  69. 1k battles till end of january or 1k after all, from CBT start till release?

    ReplyDelete
  70. You sure this is not some twisted april fools joke? 1000 battles?

Whats the point in giving a few hardcore players a gift instead of everyone that participated in closed beta?

If I do not get that free closed beta tank I'm gonna be disappointed.
"looks at my preorder code" hmmm I want a closed beta tank..

    ReplyDelete
  71. 1k battles is excluding a large majority of players. I'm definitely glad I didn't put any money down for this, because I don't want to reward such an attitude towards the beta community.

Nearly 700 battles since OB started, 200 odd during the CB, and this is the thanks I get. Might as well have waited for the finished product before wasting my time and effort for no reward! Seriously Overlord, that's a real kick in the teeth.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I started testing on the 08th October 2010 and have played many battles, however not nearly 1000 battles (somewhere in the region of 400) and I feel that 1k is excluding those who have done what they signed up to do (that being test the game) rather than 'play' it in a hardcore fashion.

Relax or remove the number of battles, please! Its only fair to those of us with families who have still contributed to the testing process.

    ReplyDelete
  73. well i did 1,400ish battle since the softwipe but i have no clue how much idid after open beta i do hope i get that tank coz before the softwipe i did over 1k battles

overload ya gotta understand that a lot of player did at lease 2k battle before and after the wipe intotal

some of us pay all 3 or multiple of the pre-order since we are devoted players, you have to be fair to players that spend a lot of hours on this game specially testing each tank, enduring the broken spotting system even the red texture problem that is now solved, due to us bringing this errors and problem come to light

WoT broken a record for most player online, good review not due to just the development but also US the beta tester from beta to open beta, we feel that we earn that gift and earn some respect from the WoT staff for helping you guy to develop a great game

1000 battle is not fair for most users that as a job, life and families

    ReplyDelete
  74. I have a registration date of Feb 2010. I have over 2000 battles but due to Real life getting in th eway, I probably haven't played 1000 battles since soft wipe. I have been playing a lot again, since about February.

I am just curious though, I have been a member for over a year. I have put a lot of time in this game and I am now wondering that due to my mini hiatus for a few months while I worked out my new job, cross country move, and a marriage, I may not qualify for a tank that is given to beta testers? Because I didn't play enough after a certain date?

I would really like to know what the criteria will be for being granted a premium tank?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Count battles from CBT and OBT and if u ll have 1k of them or more u ll get gift tank +u have to register as CBT, thats alL!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Gaetan,

all battles count, either from your registration date or the soft wipe. See you profile.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Got more than 1,5k battles in my profile. Do those include battles pre-wipe or I'm in the safe zone ?

    ReplyDelete
  78. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  79. so your saying that you have the pre-wipe record?

coz what on my profile on the WoT site is what started from the soft wipe

and i registered the 02.09.2010, and did currently 1,495 battles

what about the player that didn't make the 1k after soft wipe but did registered during close beta?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Just to clarify, its not an either or situation, i need to both play over 1k battles and be registered during CBT? because i have over 1k battles but missed CBT (wished i found this game sooner u guys do an awesome job)

    ReplyDelete
  81. no money for you!

    ReplyDelete
  82. so whats the next hoop we need to jump over to get the tank? only players that have 60% or better win loss ratio?, killed a IS7 with a marder?

    ReplyDelete
  83. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I hope thats a April fools joke. I've play 400-500 battles on my account and I have a incredibly busy work schedule and family life. I was kind of hoping to get the CBT gift tank.

Thats the problem with arbitary numbers they don't account for reality. I'm sure a lot of people have reached that amount. But this number seems very harsh and I would say that you should really say it will simply go to active CBT accounts. And delete all the inactive ones ie accounts that happened been touched for 3-4 months.

400 games is 60-70hrs worth of game time with the average length of games atm. For a working guy thats a lot of hours, no way I'll hit 1k. So I really hope its a april fools.

    ReplyDelete
  85. 500 battles should be more reasonable to get the tank and maybe 500 gold for those above 1-2k battles.
Yes, i've seen players with even above 7000 battles but let's think about those (including me) who has a work to do as well. :)

Btw, i'm planning to buy a new pc next month, meaning that after struggling more than 500 battles since CBT with minimal settings on my laptop, i can start with a Loltraktor in HD after release? :))
No offense, this is my favorite game, but the number of battles doesn't represent the player's activity in the community for example, doesn't show if someone reported even one bug during CBT, and so on.

    Shoot me with a Maus if i don't have a point :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. “Note 2. There might be a restriction for CBT member on the minimum number of battles played in order to get this tank.”

I “might” actually be really disappointed by this statement (it doesn’t say that the restriction will actually be in place). And I’ll explain why: First of all, I never asked anything in return for playing in the betatest.

So I’m happily playing the game, waiting for the game to go life and really start earning my tanks. Then you announced that there would be a gift tank for everybody that started in closed beta and still played.

Wow… I actually qualify for that! How nice of you guys. And the only thing I had to do for it was play a game I enjoyed. I can tell you I was really looking forward to play with that tank.

But wait, apparently there are a lot of closed beta testers still playing so that means you would have to give out a lot of premium tanks. “Sorry guys we *insert random restriction* so you’re not getting anything after all.”

I understand it is a gift. But you offered that gift to me without me asking for it and now you’re basically telling you’re coming back on your promise. If you had never promised that gift I wouldn’t have missed it. But since you did, I feel really disappointed now it looks like you’re coming back on your word.

I really like the game. I even ordered a medium pre order package, because I will play this game for the foreseeable future. But this feels like being a little kid who gets told a day before xmas that Santa isn’t real.

    ReplyDelete
  87. i have been here a month. and have over 1000 battles. will receive something????

    ReplyDelete
  88. You guys that are crying about 1k battles being a high number OBVIOUSLY weren't part of the Closed Beta.

If you haven't played over 1k battles, your feedback into the game isn't as great as others (typically those playing higher tiers) who've played all the tiers and most all of the tanks, and REALLY put time into testing the functions of the game to make it ready for release. The gift is not for everyone who's enjoyed the efforts of those who dealt w/ Closed Beta bugs, but those who've fought through the early bugs to make it the enjoyable game it is now.

So quit complaining, buy your gold package, and keep enjoying the game. See you on the field (in my unique tank :P).

    Sincerely,
    CBT's

    ReplyDelete
  89. You guys that are crying about 1k battles being a high number OBVIOUSLY weren't part of the Closed Beta.

I work and travel out of town EVERY week, and I've been able to log 2,250 battles, usually only playing an hour or two on the weekend days (Fri, Sat, Sun), and randomly during the week. I usually play 15 or so 7-8min battles, enough to gain double exp for the win on each current tier tank I'm playing with.

So quit complaining, buy your gold package, and keep enjoying the game. See you on the field (in my unique tank :P).

    Sincerely,
    CBT's

    ReplyDelete
  90. I REALLY hope there isn't a battle requirement..I've beta tested since July of last year but only have around 510. :/

And Rob, I was a part..but I have other things to do.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I WAS really ecstatic to get the tank until I learned about the rather high battle requirement (not all of us can play the game for hours on end every day)..and I WAS thinking about getting a pre-order gold pack..but after learning this...probably not. :|

    ReplyDelete
  92. Wait..does the in-game battlecount contain pre-softwipe battles?

    ReplyDelete
  93. Just checked my profile on the page and I'm guessing it does..well...that's total and epic BS. :/

Honestly..now not sure if I'll play at all after release after that. :|

    ReplyDelete
  94. BTW..which is more important..someone with way over 1000 battles but doesn't even have a forum account..or someone with less than 500 battles but has more posts than he does battles?

This is pretty much just rewarding a LOT of people who played the game but didn't leave any feedback at all.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Funny. In CBT since Jan. 3k battles.
    1k is not many really.
Assumingly if you gat 600 exp for each this is one tier 9 tank to get, if you stik to only this tree.
    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  96. And remenber it`s not just you "words" feedback but allso statistick which allows improving the balance. And i think it is more importaint than the number of posts.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Rob..shut up. Everyone has different personal circumstances, good for you you managed to get a couple of thousand battles in. I've been in the CBT and simply haven't had the time.

I really wish all the people that reached this number stopped critising those who didn't. I'm sure if I'd had a week of vacation with nothing to do I'd probably be up with that number. But with a family of 5 its quite hard to get that amount of free time.

If I don't get it ok, I think WoT devs are idiots for doing that but ok. But I simply do not like the fact they are cutting 'active' CBT players off because they are basically lazy.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Overlord , i am furious but - couldn't you give this tank free for people with 1k and more battles and available for the rest of closed beta testers as a premium tank to buy for gold ?

    ReplyDelete
  99. I know the tank is probably going to suck..but it's the principle of the thing.
Around a month ago "OH HEY, FREE TANK FOR ALL CBT'S!"
    And the people cheered.
Then 3 days ago "OH HEY MOST OF YOU AREN'T GOING TO GET ONE BECAUSE OF THIS ARBITRARY LIMIT THAT EVEN THE RUSSIAN TESTERS DIDN'T HAVE."

    That burns.

I've been an active tester since the middle of July last year..but I have not been able to do the required 1-2 hours of pure game-time every single day of every single week of every single month since then to get the required number of battles. I spent more time in the forums trying to give feedback opposed to never posting and just playing..and I am being punished for actually being a responsible tester.
    Sucks. :/

    ReplyDelete
  100. It's hilarious to see players get all bent out of shape over a "FREE" gift that to be honest, not even all that good.

If you're a CBT(for people who don't know if they're CBT or not...check your forum status) and you meet the requirement, you'll get one. Congratulations. If you are not CBT or do not meet the requirement, you won't get one. It's THEIR game and THEIR gift to us so they get to choose who will receive it. The devs don't own you anything for playing in beta. Get over it.

    ReplyDelete
  101. i have over 2,294 battles :) and was in CB can i has tank? :D

    ReplyDelete
  102. But what of the Valentine? which was a gift given to those with CB key do we get that as well once the game goes live?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Timmah..it's funny the only ones telling other people to stop complaining are the ones getting it.
There are those of us that have been closed beta testers since last July. We were excited to learn we were getting some recognition for giving this game almost a year of our lives.
We have every right to be pissed when an arbitrary requirement (that the russian testers did not have) was added 10 days before release..denying us that recognition for really no reason.

You get one, great, we don't, get over yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  104. its not coz its a free tank its about mortal on reapect of the player that did test, i fit all requirements for the tank but there some people on WoT that did the testing and so on and they deserve it more for the hard work that getting insulted

i did a little research and the Russian didnt had any limit on there gift tank, so where the fairest

me and a friend are planing to spend around a few 100 buck a money for unlimited prem ammo and yearly prem value

i did over 1k battle but my friend did less then me due to work and school

if the developer wanna be like this why spend our hard earn money on a company that cant have fair standard

am a hardcore gamer, but a lot of people that did a lot of testing are not so think of the people that does not spend hours playing games all day like no life people like me

    ReplyDelete
  105. correction:

me and a friend are planing to spend around a few 100 buck a "month" for unlimited prem ammo and yearly prem value

    ReplyDelete
  106. As well as i suposed to , but untill i'll have the tank or possibility to buy it for gold - NO WAY !

    ReplyDelete
  107. Sorry if this is aswered but...

Then Open Beta player can earn the gift if you have the 1.000 or more battles played?

  108. hey not sure how to use my ingame name but i havent done 1k battles but i have a good reason , i have been saving my gold to aprrox 25000 so i could buy a premium tank and grind xp hardout then convert it to free xp with the gold hence allowing me to research every tier of russian heavy line without buying a tank until i reach my goal ,will i to miss out on free tank even though i started last year sometime?

  109. "Timmah..it's funny the only ones telling other people to stop complaining are the ones getting it.
There are those of us that have been closed beta testers since last July. We were excited to learn we were getting some recognition for giving this game almost a year of our lives."

Where in my post did I say I'm getting one? Way to assume and putting words in people's mouth. As for you argument, that just prove my point of players having a false sense of entitlement.

  110. overlord hasn't said we need 1k battles to get that tank, so please be patient
honestly, i'm a bit disappointed, they didn't mentioned any limit when they announced that CBTs would get some gifts

  111. i would like to see it as an either or, if you tested significantly after the said cutoff (100 battles worth), you get it. or you get it if you were before said cutoff. Everyone who was registered prior or played alot of hours wins.

  118. So speaking of gold tanks, I heard we can keep our promo valentines after release even if we sold them? Do we just re-enter the promo code once it goes live?

  121. 1000 battles and only for the people that played after the soft wipe until the release

if you like me played even more than 1000 battles before the soft wipe but then played less than 1000 after it...

then you get nothing at all
not even if you have played over 2000 battles before and after, even if you reported bugs, offensive players, and helped to make the game better... you get nothing...

    burn devs BURN!!!!!!!
