World of Warplanes Prepping for Takeoff

Wargaming.net announces details on economic system for the upcoming flight combat MMO World of Warplanes. The new game recently announced at E3, will have the same economic profile as the highly-acclaimed World of Tanks, with Gold, Credits, and Experience as main currency to gain and spend for continued advancements.

World of Warplanes will feature a global interaction with World of Tanks, which will begin with sharing Gold and Free Experience between the two games for players, who have registered accounts in both of them on a single email. This feature will allow Wargaming.net community to plan their expenses and leave exactly the amount of Gold and Free Experience they want on either of the games.

Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi states, “We’ve got thousands of players on World of Tanks servers, who have gained a scarily large amount of free experience which they don’t know how to spend. With this sharing option we say to them — hey, here’s our new game, and it’s as brutal and addictive as World of Tanks.”

About World of Warplanes

World of Warplanes is the flight combat MMO action game set in the Golden Age of military aviation. The game continues the armored warfare theme marked in the highly-acclaimed World of Tanks and will throw players into a never-ending tussle for air dominance.

Based purely on aircraft setting, World of Warplanes will allow players to build full-scale careers of virtual pilots offering machines of several key eras, staring from World War I period with “Biplanes” and up to jet fighter prototypes that led the way to modern air forces.

World of Warplanes will feature a wide range of warbirds, each of them unique in their effectiveness and behavior. Battle of Prokhorovka Special

The Battle of Prokhorovka (12 July 1943) was fought on the Eastern Front during WWII as part of the Battle of Kursk in the Soviet Union. The German Wehrmacht's Fourth Panzer Army clashed with the Soviet Red Army's 5th Guards Tank Army. It is one of the largest tank battles in military history.

Czech Tanks Incoming!

Skoda T-15 (Panzerspähwagen T-15) is light German premium tank.Years of production (several prototypes built): 1941 - 1943. Constructed in on the territory of present Czech Republic as continuation of Pz. 38 (t) and Pz. 38 NA.

The vehicle is planned to be added in 6.6 update.

Server-side Update on Team Kill Penalties

Server-side adjustment has been applied to EU and US servers earlier today (July 5) increasing penalty rates for team killing and team damaging twice.

One will get team killer statuses quicker now (the amount of credits subtracted as penalty has not been changed, but one can get banned for TK more easily). Penalty rates for "splash" damage remain the same.

The update was server-side. Your game client doesn't require any updating.

Lowe: Upcoming Price Revision and Weekly Special

Being extremely careful when it comes to adjustment of premium vehicles, we have assessed great amount of stat data and stumbled upon an unfair pricing German tier 8 premium heavy tank - Lowe.

As the data samples from all 3 servers show, the Lowe enjoys better overall combat performance compared to his direct counterpart KV-5 from Soviet tank tree.

To put both tanks on a par, we have decided to raise the price tag to 12.500 gold pieces on July 12, 2011.

Your last chance to grab Lowe at old price is to get hold of weekly special starting July 5 (today).

Goes without saying that all players who already own this piece of German machinery will keep it. So as to make it for all players who intended to buy Lowe we give this weekly notice.

Update on preliminary patch notes of v.6.6:

• New map Siegfried Line (working title, subject to change)
• New German heavy tanks line: Pz.VI Tiger (P), VK 4502 (P) Ausf A, Е-75, Е-100.
• New tank E-50, a substitution to Panther II as tier 9 German medium tank (the same procedure as for the substitution of M26 Pershing for M46 Patton). Changes to German medium tanks line according to the revised German tech tree
• New German premium light tank Skoda Т-15.
• New German premium medium tank Skoda Т-25.
• "Zero" battles for players with up to 10 battles on their accounts.
• Free platoons for 2 players, premium account is required for platoon leader to invite a 3rd member.
• "Supercharging/afterburning/nitro" (working title, subject to change) consumable for E-series providing extra horsepower.

ETA -  end of July - beginning of August, 2011.
