Number 3 is the best one. It should be recognizable even at small sizes, and it has the biggest representation of the game's logo. Number 1 has too much going on, number 2 lacks the logo, and number 4 has the tank wearing a lightning-bolt pope hat.
i vote for 1 but just the logo icon like in 4, but not the whole background like 4.
1 looks the best as a large icon, but shunk down on a iphone/ipad i think it i agree that it may be too busy. I just like the tank in that one the best followed by the tank in number 2
I like 2 best, but 3 is good also. 4 the perspective is odd, and for 1, I just don't like text on the icons. They're too small, and it just looks ugly. So I vote 2. Simple, obvious, and I like the colors.
In germany you might get complaints by some retarded left wingers, who have nothing better to do than tell other people what is (isnt) appropriate, especially with picture 3. It resembles to some degree an SS rune.
Though I suggest you guys "give a fuck" about that.
(Considering the amount of games using a tank in their icon on both Google Play and the iOS appstore, having "World of Tanks" present in the icon should be important.)
IMO 1 is the best, then 4, 3 and the worst is number 2, cause it doesn't have any logo etc, and there are tons of games for Android using simply tanks as logo.
I have to admit that Seppl and Folterknecht are just right, the logos 3 and 4 could remind people of the SS runes. But this is just because you cannot see the whole "Blitz" from the top to the bottom. Maybe the "Blitz" itself could just be changed in design. Besides that i would prefer something like number 1 with one of the most common tanks of WW II, either Pz IV, T-34 or Sherman.
I think the first one's text is too small when it appears as an icon for mobile devices. The second one lacks of a logo, which is not very good as there are already some tank games in the stores. In the last one there is an unproportional balance between logo and tank. I like the third one the most, because it's like 3D and that's quite "modern" visualisation. (And I actually don't see the part with the SS rune, but you could change it to the other flash, that you use in the logo of "blitz")
I like the third option, I kind of like the Idea of the not so typical "tank-game-must-be-russian-or-german-tank" kind of tank, if that makes any sense?
Pershing is (for me atleast) not as obvious to connect with the ww2.
1. I would choose 2 or 3, but 1 has world of tanks in it. I feel that is necessary for making the app icon unique. there are plenty of similar icons on tank games in the app store. There's even a Blitz game!
#3 is best for most app uses. Bright, vibrant, and striking.
#1 has the best info because it clearly states what the app is, great for the store pages, but is probably too cluttered to be really readable on most mobile devices.
Above all, do NOT use #2. There's nothing there to distinguish it from the many tank games that are sure to sprout up or all the others that already may exist on app stores.
4 IMO is the best one, but 1 is not bad ... the main concern I have is that the text on 1 will not be clear on mobile devices. And I am not talking here about resolution, but the physical size of the icon no matter what the resolutions it would be displayed in.
I like number 3 - good colors, a clearly visible tank and from a good angle...

Understand that and don't want any resemblance here. #3 is unlikely to go into the game in its current form.
Delete@Overlord:
DeleteHow can I reach you in privat? I have a proposal/idea ... somewhat WoT related and not connected with Blitz.
You can contact me via PM in the official forums EU/NA, if you like. User name is Folterknecht - same as it is here.
You can PM me on EU forums. Just let me know here that you've done so.

ReplyDeleteCall tank game "Blitz" => No german tank option for icon...pure logic.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't have to be logical to be popular.

One of the reasons we don't put any of those - no direct links with WWII. Blitz refers to more dynamic and shorter battles.

ReplyDeleteI think having the name listed is important; the big lightning is also innappropriate in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteStick with your tank-related corporate colours. 2-4 look like icons from cheap mobile games, while #1 so far looks the most professional.
