Upcoming Armor Buffs of T95

Having contacted Patton Museum, where there is a real T95, we have managed to obtain more accurate information on its armoring. So there will be a number of changes made in the near future (supposedly in 7.1 update) to improve the hitbox bringing it closer to the reality.

The adjustments are going to affect parts of side armor and sideskirts of the vehicle and will lead to 50-300% increase of its thickness. The maximum side armor value will be the same (152mm), since the overhaul mostly applies to T95 weakspots.

Performance-wise T95 is on a par with its counterparts by the way. :)

  4. so out of curiosity and this is going to the upcoming release of the US T110. I tried to find some historical data on it and all I could find was for an M110 which is a SPG that entered service in the 60's. Where are they getting their information on the T110. I have been looking forward to it but want to read up on it prior to it releasing. Any thoughts

  5. Seems to me that there might be changes to all TD's if they are going to bump up the t95 and then the next sentance says that its currently on par with other TD's, my thought would be that bumping it up would make it better then the others so maybe all the T9's will get a boost and make them more viable in Clan Wars.

  6. I think I am happy about this. Will the extra armor add weight, and thus slow it down more? 13kph is already painfully slow enough that you have to pray you are going where combat will be.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Q: I think I am happy about this. Will the extra armor add weight, and thus slow it down more?

A: No, the weight won't be increased.

  8. @CdtWeasel: you can always wait for the battle to come to you, on a T95 that is for sure going to happen.

If they are going to increase the side armor, I gonna start grinding my T25 AT for sure, only need the last gun before being able to unlock the T28

  9. How about a little speed buff? 18km/h top speed would be more than enough like in T28 :)

  11. Anyways , the T95 is unpenetrable , so buffing it won t make it harder to penetrate :D

    ReplyDelete
  12. Uhhhh, is this actually needed? Currently on live the T95 is the only TD that sees meaningful play in Clan Wars. Wouldn't buffing the others make more sense?

    ReplyDelete
  13. "Performance-wise T95 is on a par with its counterparts by the way". I don't get it... I have t95, thinking of selling it, but now no way! :)
Exept this sentence means something bad? :SS

    ReplyDelete
  14. How about the other TD's?

Object 704 and jgdtiger are far more easy to penatrate already than an T95.
I even bounce on it with an SPG sometimes.
Other T9 TD's are arty party magnets ;)

    ReplyDelete
  15. @Yozzman: T95 is the biggest arty magnet there is. 9/10 times arty kills me

will the sideskirts prevent the tracks from falling off everytime a tank looks at you?

    ReplyDelete
  16. The T95 speed is the drawback, 13KPH. T95 should be a rolling roadblock from the front. This sounds like it will be come just that. We will see... Thanks OL, this is great news.

  17. Guess I need to grind my T28 more to get to the T95. Any thought of buffing the T28?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Wish I saw this before I sold my slugger and swapped to the Russian td line...

    ReplyDelete
  19. Overlord Please tell me you're trolling...that tank is already a beast for a tier 9!

If arty has no shot the T95 is almost impenetrable...

Q: So if you're improving the T95, I assume you'll be keeping it, IE the T30 becomes a US Tier 10 TD when the T110 rolls out?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Real armor for T95 is nice, but now it real problem, even for me, after this buff it will be... immortal.

What about real speed for Tiger I and Tiger II ?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Good to know we won't be slowed down. Ya can't always wait on battle to come to you, if your team is good they will stop the enemy from getting close to your base. Which is a bummer if it wastes your first battle bonus.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Nice very nice but why you add t95 armor and remove T30? For all of what this game playing is T30 paper, and now he will no longer have strong armor at the tower. Why do I have this tank?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ditto as Nisu, Tiger I and II need their realistic speeds. It's really a disappointment. And the Tiger I needs its realistic mantlet. Why pay attention to one historical value but neglect others?

    Continuity anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  24. wtf so how are you going to nerf it to compensate? Or will you just leave it super overpowered?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Q: What about Tiger I gun mantlet? Any historic reasoning for it?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Overlord I can't really imagine the armor buff. Can you please explain it more, how it will really look in gameplay? As people above have written - its hardly penetrable for tanks, but also remark from me, with tier 6-7 RU arties, I get damage from splash of T95 very very seldom (very close hit,few centimeters from T95 - Im not speaking about the splashes from 3m away), and even direct hits give me often no damage (HE shells from 203mm cannon, from SU-14, S-51, Object212). Of course with planned future split of TD lines and other changes the game will be most probably balanced also differently, but still I can't imagine to the T95 to be even tougher.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Cool, now go find an IS-7 and make it historicly correct too :D

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm myself a T95 player and all I can say is that people don't know how to use their ammunition. They all try to penetrate instead of using HE and doing lots of damage to cannon or crew.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well, considering HE damage seems to get absorbed by armour thickness in 7.0 now, even HE is fairly weak against the front of the T95.

    ReplyDelete
  30. So... Are we going to see any rework on Jagdtiger? It was bad before, but after introducing the E-series, it's become pretty much useless. It's inferior to E-75 in almost every way: slower, no turret, weaker armor, less HP and even the gun is virtually the same. Would appreaciate any comment on this, thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Are you going to be undergunning it as a result of the large armor buff?

  33. Nice now make the tiger historically accurate so he can shoot form 2 km.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If T-95 performance is on par with other T9 TDs, why buff it when other tanks are nerfed for "balancing issues".

This is bollocks, the T-95 is a veritable fortress on tracks, go overhaul the JT again instead of annoying us with this unwarranted buff!!

  36. I honestly dislike my t95. Yeah its fun to bounce stuff. That though seems schizophrenic at best. Glass gun that breaks when someone sneezes at it. Constantly one shotable by arty. Easily flanked. Hilariously bad speed.

At the point TD and SPG can circle you to death thats pretty bad.

If the enemy has a T5 scout good luck actually getting to cover before you get artied.

Worthless on anything resembling an open map.

Why bitch about the armor just flank it and ignore it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. its a buff to the SIDE armor... the front and rear are not getting touched.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah, sorry, but u mention historic reasons for T-95 Buff, but why are nearly all german tanks far too slow, beside the fact u cant really use them for sniping over 500m.

Tiger II 38km/h (real) vs. 28 km/h (wot)
    Tiger I 38 km/h (real) vs. 34 km/h (wot)
    Panzer II 55 km/h (real) vs. 40 km/h (wot)
    etc pp

    on the other hand:
    KV-13 51 km/h (real) vs. 60 km/h (wot)
    T-28 37 km/h (real) vs. 45 km/h (wot)

And ofc the strange situation, that u have to compete with a type 59 from the 60s with your early 40s german tanks. Thats rly pissing me off.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well Im glad its getting some help, yeah in some situations its awesome, but most of the time its gets easily beaten.

I had a T-50-2 drive up behind mine, shoot the engine out and just kept firing through the back armour until he killed me, everytime my crew fixed the engine he broke it again so i just sat there helpless.

    ReplyDelete
  40. even 34km/h for tiger and 33 km/h for tiger 2 would be enough, cause a lot of battle is lost because tiger2 couldnt get back to base to break cap because of its 27/28kmph speed

    ReplyDelete
  41. What's that Ilaris? Medium tanks move faster than heavy tanks you say? How unbalanced.

    ReplyDelete
  42. The Tiger I had frontal hull armour 100 mm (3.9 in) thick and frontal turret armour of 120 mm (4.7 in), as opposed to the 80 mm (3.1 in) frontal hull and 50 mm (2 in) frontal turret armour of contemporary models of the Panzer IV.[4][6] It also had 60 mm (2.4 in) thick hull side plates and 80 mm armour on the side superstructure and rear, turret sides and rear was 80 mm. The top and bottom armour was 25 mm (1 in) thick; from March 1944, the turret roof was thickened to 40 mm (1.6 in).[3] Armour plates were mostly flat, with interlocking construction. The armour joints were of high quality, being stepped and welded rather than riveted.
The nominal armour thickness of the Tiger was reaching up to 200 mm at the mantlet.[7]

That's called "Balance." If all German tanks were made according to their real life stats, no one would go Russian or American because there would be no point. You have to understand, this is a game, and games need balance. And if balance comes by not being historically accurate, then so be it.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go make the IS-4's armor more accurate. We just went and checked the armor thickness at the museum with a new tape measure, and it looks like the Driver's hatch was a full 165mm thick! It's very important to make sure the armor thickness matches up with historical levels. Historical accuracy must be maintained in this game, after all.

    ReplyDelete
  44. this game has one BIG disadvantage - tanks can´t be based on historic facts. because German tanks was the best for 1vs1. CCCP and USA went for quantity. therefore everyone will play German tanks and nobody CCCP and USA tanks

  46. Claiming that somehow the Germans are wronged and underpowered when they get fantasy guns, armor, and engine configurations while the entire American tree (minus literally 6 tanks) have historical configurations or worse, and yet somehow IRL German tanks are better. Your imagination land tanks are already barely on par, what makes you think your historical configurations will suddenly fare better?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't really have a problem with its side armor. Its front armor is penned a little too easily, HE does too much damage (7.0 will fix this some, yes?) and most importantly, it's just too slow to reach battles where it's needed. It needs more speed more than anything, like you did for the Maus.

Still, I guess something is better than nothing. Killing T95s is incredibly easy.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Guys, please be glad, that some tanks will be coparable with real. USA has really bad tanks, only few is better than others. T95 is really beast, but it is TD, it is a HT destroyer, if medium tank is close, TD can't do anything

  51. "Performance-wise T95 is on a par with its counterparts"

Assuming that since the 6.7 release my BL-10 shells can be bounced even by Pz IV (not always obviously but actually it should NEVER happen), I can't fully agree with this statement.

If you consider that T95 have to be armor buffed, at least bring back the "old" BL-10 as it is supposed to be the more powerfull gun in the game.

Same for Jagdtiger which seem to be food for almost all tiers IX vehicules (I don't have one but when I see what happen to them).

So if you want balance Tiers IX TD, you can buff T95 armor but don't forget to cancel last BL-10 nerf and do a global buff to Jagdtiger.

    ReplyDelete
  52. guys clame down, it is a game. and besides about the speeds of the german tanks:
panther reverse speed ~4km/h (real) ~19km/h (game)
so here you see a good example of what the game would look like if it was realistic, reverse would suck!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Works for me. Time to grind US TDs.

Are you going to update the T28 as well?

    ReplyDelete
  54. I have t95 with many games played and i consider it as most powerfull TD and maybe viechle in the game.
few times i have tested it agianst J-Tiger with giving to JT 2 free shots befor i start and most of time i won tests ware done on opne field at malinovka, distance about 200m.

Only real problem for t95 is arty, couse its slow and can hide from it that easy.
Tho i did noticed that tho most of time is extrimly powerfull there is games when everithing is going trou.
Still under no circumstances i wouldnt sell it as i think other TDs are in need of buff so that they actualy stand chance against 95.
Maybe hit boxes can be fixed a bit, but real buff should have J tiger he turns slower, has tall siluete, bit weaker gun and much easier target for arty.

Maybe with this buff i can finaly get scout medal with t95 :P
    thanks

  56. I'll also mention that in reality, the T95 was completely impervious to artillery and only mounted the 105. Imagine if they chose to do that - make it impossible to damage the T95 with SPGs but gave it a gun too weak to do anything.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Brilliant this was already the next tank I was aiming to get :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Q: Overlord I can't really imagine the armor buff. Can you please explain it more, how it will really look in gameplay?

    ReplyDelete

    A: No.

  66. Goo fast havy having contacting Germany Panzer Museums!

    ReplyDelete
  67. The T95 is simple to kill if you know where to shoot it. TD's should be punished for being out of position, that's why they have thick front armor and a huge gun. If you manage to flank them, it's right that you should have an easier time killing them.

If you do this, even T8 tanks will have issues killing them from the sides. As it currently stands only T9+ can penetrate them from the front. Increasing armor further is poor tank design, please look at the ramifications of doing this and how much better it makes the T95 compared to the paper-thin Objeykt 704 and explosive Jagdtiger.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I have both a T95 and a obj704 and I'll tell you without reservation that the Obj704 walks all over the T95.

The T95 is one of the worst tanks in the game, its incredibly slow, its a huge arty target. You cannot use terrain properly, the armour is full of holes, yes it can bounce lots but once under fire = dead since there's no escaping.
I would not recommend this tank to anyone.

Too many negatives to make this tank anywhere near as fun and effective as the Obj704 which can and does alter battle outcomes.

Do any of the naysayers actually have a T95?

    ReplyDelete
  69. finally, something along the same lines as american tanks that don't say "nerf"

im gonna love my t95 even more now, thanks overlord, and maybe u can speed up the release of the M103 and T110, my t30 and t34 is getting boring to play since they both feel like tier 7 with a bigger gun

    ReplyDelete
  70. There are two possibilities:

Either Overlord made some kind of April Fool's joke, since the T95 is obviously the least tank in the game which needs an armour buff, or he prescribed and actually meant that the Jagdtiger would get an armor buff, since it can be penetrated at the front by Tier 7 guns.

Gee, I didn't know that asking for realistic speeds warranted the tired old "Slippery slope" argument. "We can't give you realistic speeds on the Tiger because then we'd start having to give out realistic terrain crossing and then the swamp maps we make would be worthless because the American and German tanks would get stuck even more than they currently do and it'll be ANARCHY! The end of gaming civilization as we know it! Tigers and T29s hopelessly mired in mud, all because YOU asked for realistic speeds! I hope you're happy, you RUINED THE GAME FOREVER!" Seriously, asking for realistic speeds is NOT the end of the game, although you seem to think it is.

By the way, the only people who use slippery slope arguments seriously are stupid politicians who are trying to force their bigoted view on the rest of society. Unless you want to be grouped in with bigots in positions of power, knock off the "slippery slope" argument.

  78. This is just a ploy to keep attention off the fact that the IS7 and IS4 are invincible from the front in 7.0. It's awesome, BTW OL, that all the major concerns coming from the 7.0 testings have been addressed by devs or yourself. But somehow the little issues of two Russian tanks that can't be hurt by ANY non-gold round from frontal WEAK POINT shots.

    ReplyDelete
  79. have not been even acknowledged by a single individual at WG.

  80. So we can now expect to see the StuG III receive its historically correct frontal armour value of 80mm with no speed nerf either, yes?

    ReplyDelete
  81. A: And realistic passing-abilities perhaps. And traverse speeds. For them and JT, and E100, and especially Maus. And there will be no fun.

That's quite a poor argument considering it's valid for the tanks you HAVE given a historically correct speed such as the IS3.

    ReplyDelete
  82. God, you guys just don't get it. You see, Wargaming and The History Channel are a lot alike. Both of them have their own interpretation of what "Fact" is. For you, "facts" given to you by "experts" state that the Tiger could manage 38 kph and had amazingly good floatation over terrain. However, that's your own personal "facts." The truth is, Wargaming has their own "facts," given to them by their own "experts." And the "facts" Wargaming has say the Tiger could only manage 30 kph on roadways, and the ground pressure was so high that the tank would become hopelessly mired in anything but the firmest terrain. Your "facts" say a T-54's turret could never spin at 50 degrees a second without killing the entire turret crew through blunt force trauma, but Wargaming's "facts" state the turret could manage 60 because the crews were quick on their feet. What I'm trying to say is who's to say your "facts" are any more accurate then Wargaming's "facts"? No one can be sure who's "facts" are the right ones, because anyone who would judge the "facts" have their own "facts" that they believe in. There's no way to prove whose "facts" are correct. So just calm down, assume that Wargaming has their hands on "facts" more correct than your "facts," flip on the TV, and learn new "facts" about how Ancient Aliens gave the Stalin plans for the IS series of tanks.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Why not give the Maus its historical values back? its only a extra 10mm of armor which really wouldn't make it that much harder to penetrate considering theres ton's of guns with high enough penetration to penetrate it..

    ReplyDelete
  92. This should not happen many of times in the past thhe developers have said that historical accuracy was not what they were going for yet whenever they make a put a tank at that they think is fine but needs a buff or debuff they hide behind the fact that its historically accurate thats purely hypocritical. i have been playing this game since the start of closed beta i seriously have gotten tired of this. The only tier 9 TD right now that needs a buff is the JagdTiger. The developers continue ignoring the fact that they continue buffing and debuffing tanks that don't need that. yeah don't the developers take a reality check and take the real in game facts and make a good game out of it for once.

    ReplyDelete
  93. When I read this, the first thing that came to mind was "WTF?". I presume this post means that hitting the T95's commander's hatch will no longer do any damage to its health. I can just imagine facing this thing in a narrow passage on Himmelsdorf... Basically take the -750 HP and run away while you can; no hatch, no HE.

Speaking of American TDs, what is wrong with the Slugger's turret? It bounces ridiculous shots (plenty of 88L/71 shots, also had it bounce, bounce! not ricochet or anything, a shot from my Jagdtiger yesterday).

  95. Given that pretty much everything can kill T96 from the side, and he's so slow that pretty much everything is fast enough to flank it, this seems like a fair change to me. The max thickness isn't changing, just the number of weakspots is being reduced, is how I read it, so, a good change.

  99. Allmighty, the T95 already bounces pretty much anything a GW Panther can throw on it, not a single HE shell landing on top of it penetrates. I've looked like a fool in matches when my team screams for arty to kill the T95 and all I can hear is *pling*pling* as me and the other arty play with it by dropping ping pong balls on it.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I don't get it. You are nerfing and buffing as it suits you then you claim to change stuff according to the real models? What about a real 1950s T-54? I bet there are enough models in museums around.

    ReplyDelete
  101. @manovkalic: IS-7 was useless armor wise so it desperately needed buff. As needed T-54.

@Riddari: Justice, that's only word describing this. What chance you think T95 going under 20km/h would stand if every arty shot would do standard damage.

  103. You joking right?? T95 is fortress unless you find brave soul that block it from side so it cant turn. Problem is usually it dont stand alone and other team members protect it from getting blocked as they know it gave them cover. There is no 2nd tank I would have so many 0 dmg hits or bounces while I played on arty.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I like all this being historically correct - But shouldn't you remove a few hitpoints then to keep the balance?
Also this will not be a huge thing at tier, however when tier 6 tanks gets dragged into these battles they will suffer a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  105. WHAT??? historicly correct??? WG is using that argument*???? WTF???

how can a game, in which tanks on the american side are all from tier 7 up just prototypes never biuld or bouild only in a test quantity and the russian tier 9, 10 heavy and tier 8.9 TDs are made up(not build at all), say that its gonna make a tank historcly correct???

if the game was historicly correct i WOULD DRIVE MY King Tiger or Ferdinand AND OWN SHERMANS AND KVs, ISes!!!

and they would all bounce from me!!!!

so WG pls dont use the historicly correct card!!!

    ReplyDelete
  106. spiritus Then you will kill 10-20 tanks get surrounded because your transmission broke. You take out 2 more, but you are surrounded and taking multiple hits. Some of your crew is dead or duying. A soldires runs to a certain death but trows a Molotov Coctail at your engine. It's now over the tank is burning and your crew is dying a gruesome death. Game over

    ReplyDelete
  107. ...then a Jagdtiger would come to my rescue!!!And 10 Stuka divebombers would own the Shermans surrounding me...

and yes if i would have the Ferdi the transmission would go after 2 miles, but still!! i would bounce a shell or two :P

so this is as historicly correct game, as Obama is white...but for this i love it! cuz its not a simulator! you dont have to push 12132432452 buttons to make a tank go forward! so i dont mind it not being historicly correct...but as a history major i dont like it when the history card gets abused! ;)

so WG again...dont use this card!!!

  116. The comments here actually annoyed me enough to write a reply, I have a 1000 games in my t95. Yes it is a monster if the enemy sit peekaboo style behind a wall shooting shot for shot at a medium distance with any tank. BUT for that to happen the afore mentioned t95 has to be in the right place in an unarty-able position to be effective. Now take into account the laughable speed and the amount of arty safe positions on the map for that to happen and suddenly the power house t95 is more like a wasted tier 9 that more than likely hasnt the speed to get into the needed flank and make a difference.

Yes the armour is great AND the gun IS powerful but at the end of the day if you cant use either then whats the point? the t-95 was designed to penetrate FORTIFICATIONS yet it has less penetration than the russian object that not only is half its weight but has a substantially better speed AND reload time.

Basically for every battle you get one chance to get into the right position to meet the battle flow and occasionally on unique maps you can actually help control that flow (like any tank that travels above 20mph+ can).

Oh and jeez the arty complaining about bounces? how many times have you seen a the enemy t95 on the map and pinged to make it a target? its an artillery magnet and with its huge flat size and speed your made a target bounces or not a 3 artillery map your dead.. And why? because you move at 13kmh every other tank in game can simply reposition with reasonable effectiveness, an artillery knows despite its long reload that tank is gonna be in the same reload arc.

Anyway whine over and yes im aware this wall of text will crit you for over nine thousand

patton, pershing were post 2WW(only developed and tested in ww2 time, used in korea, vietnam), isu was used as an SPG(extremly rarely used as an TD(2times i think) in late ww2, object704 is also post ww2

    @lolero:
i ment, that if it was historicly correct, the russian and american tier10 tanks would be Shermans and ISes(or better the T-34, T-34-85)...cuz they didnt have anything stronger...and german tier 10 would be KT, ferdi, panther and jgtiger :D

    ReplyDelete
  119. the T-95 is probably a tier 10 TD the way i see it. its a monster if no support fire is trained on it when it approaches but the speed is pathetic and as such without cover or in open can be hammered with arties and tier 9 tanks that is. the saddest TD at tier 9 is the jagdtiger in ferior in many aspects compared to its counterparts in russia and usa :(

If it was historically correct in matchmaking the pz1 and pz2 would match T26 and BTs; totally crushed, the pz3 and pz4D would face T34/76 and KV1/2; totally crushed. There are many ways and not only one to see it. The game looks for balanced tiers.

    ReplyDelete
  121. @ spiritus

Pershing was used in Europe in 1945 in small quantities. You wrote that ISU and 704 were made up, which is not true. And you have in game many German tanks which never existed or where prototypes, so your whining is completely pointless. And it is not game about WWII so fact that some tank wasn't used in this war is not importent.

And you forget one importent fact. US doctrine put more importance on air force. Tanks were not considered so importent as in Germany or USSR. Most of Tigers and KT destroyed on western front where killed by planes.

And remember, against one Panther US and USSR could field around 20 Shermans and T-34. And against one KT - nine IS2. In real life price and production effectiveness are very often more important than top armors and guns. German tank engineers were making expensive armored Maybach limousines in time were they should have been making reliable cheap VW tanks.

  124. The three tier 9 TD's each have their own strenghts and weaknesses. The T95 has incredible front armor and a powerful gun, yet it is the slowest unit in the game. The 704 is the fastest of the three TD's, has a rediculous gun, and has great slope armor, but the base armor value is very low. The JagdTiger has a gun that reloads much faster than the other 2 and turns faster, but it has weak armor and the gun doesn't do as much damage.

  128. I have an example of why players think T95 is "invicible" when in reality it is not.

I used mine in Clanwars yesterday on Abbey.

I got arti safe behind the church in our base, and was covering the approach on the flank from behind the large hill.

Our flank fell and i knew i had 4 or 5 heavies heading my way. as far as i remember i eneded up facing 1 T30, 2 IS7's an IS4 and an IS3.

As they came up the hill into our base I managed to damage the T30 the IS3 the IS 4 and an IS7.

I could not kill any of them because as they came up they all just drove straight past me, knowing i could not turn to follow them while there where other enemy tanks following along behind me i would have exposed my side armour to.

I got surrounded, had my tracks broken and could not turn to face any of them after that.

It took them 15 shots to kill me and i think thats fair to be honest, i would not expect to ba able to defeat all of those tanks, my job was simply to delay them. (we lost the capping race by a few seconds)

T95 is only invincible if you come at it one at a time, an organised team will just swamp it, knowing the damage it does wil be spread over several tanks.

A bit of a nerf so it keeps its tracks on for longer is not going to make it unbeatable for any sensible opponent but it will make it less frustarting to play.

  129. Ehm, germany wouldnt have 20 vw tanks instead of 1 maybach tank. Germanys economy was MUCH MUCH MUCH smaller compared to USA, UK & USSR together(and uhm rest of the world?). Even smaller than USA alone. Beside this, they hadnt enough ressources. After 42-43 there wasnt enough left to let the airforce fly as they could.
So it is really amazing how germany could compete with so many enemies quiet long. And this was only possible because of better equipment, drill and tactics.

"And remember, against one Panther US and USSR could field around 20 Shermans and T-34. And against one KT - nine IS2. I didn't wrote such thing. It's your overinterpretation.

    @ spiritus2303

I have seen your point from begging. I was only discussing with part of your arguments :) And there are also unhistorical changes in German tanks which make them stronger. For example Ferdi is much faster and has stronger guns then in real life. PZIV get very strong turret with good gun. Also KT has stronger gun then in real life. And Tiger P was introduced with very strong armor. When his prototypes had only 100 mm, we got Tiger P with Ferdi 200 mm hull armor.

    ReplyDelete
  133. troo...of course they had to do that, becouse in real life usa and russia had nothing to stop the 88mm... ;) you have testamonies of american sherman tankers bouncing on a tiger at point-blank range and the tiger (88mm) spliting the top of the shermans turret in two at same range :)

and yes...the tiger had 38km/h top speed, tiger 2 the same on roads... and in game they are a lot slower ;)

so yes a lot of changes were made to all of the tanks...but in my experience the changes on german tanks were made to make them weaker when compering them with the russians...

    P.S.:im not german ;)

    ReplyDelete
  134. reality?? WoT is no where close to reality you have sherman's bouncing shots that should kill them out right and tanks going down hill's no trees bushes or grass and half way down they disappear and don't reappear till they killed you an are right next to you so when talking WoT don't use the word reality seems that so far the German tanks are getting nerfed like crazy and the others are getting boosted. in WW2 you want a tank that could take hits and dish them out Germans was the one you wanted if you wanted speed Russian tanks by far was the fastest and Americans well mass production you get what ya pay for.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Realistic and game balance???
That will cause much rage and pointless to do it in that way.DO NOT MIX THEM. pretty plz. U must choose between them, or maybe not. What should be the real goal of the developers? Make a balanced end game(T9-10) and make it a realistic like game for the community.
So u need to make full realistic tanks from T1 to T8 and dont even try to make it balanced. Just do it as realistic as possible with their down and up side, so every tier will have its best tank, and u may chill down every rager that its REALISTIC, and u cant do anything about it, since they are as they were in the WWII. But at T9-10, most of the tanks were just in blueprints and so on, so there is no real fact about all of their stats, and Clanwars needs balance.. i mean BALANCE and not realistic. I dont see any other possible way to go and make the community to fell good enough while playing Wot.
What do u think about that?
    Regards

  136. In fact these are not such a big buffs for T95. Side armor wont be buffed. Penetration while T95 stands on front of u IS POSSIBLE. Just aim on that huge trashbin on its roof. I have no problem with doing this (im playing T34, 20k xp to T30). T95 is fuckin slow, its also not a problem to make circles around him (mediums) or detrack and stick to him. Most 1v1 battles against T95 i won (when its spotted ofc), ofc those curtains buff can be annoying, but 152mm of skirts thickness isnt so high, while most of tier 7/8 tanks has more than 150mm of penetration. In fact - all of those ppl, who are annoyed of this are right. Making best TD stronger and nicer, is kinda strange move. After OP soviet tanks we will get OP USA tanks... So, when it will be German tanks over powering season? Maybe ill buy back my JT...

Other thing is that JagdTiger armor hasnt buffed yet (and it wont be, i suppose). This fact makes JT the worst IX tier TD in game.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Perfect I dont think other TD's need buffs cause their all strong and in reality the T95 would be considered a Tier X tank. everthing is perfect

    ReplyDelete
  138. WG need to take a really good hard look at themselves. I mean, buffing tanks because they found new evidence of certain armour values? Well guess what, JT and KT have 120mm on the lower glacis which is a known value since it was built in the mid 1940's almost 70(!!) years ago. JT has been in game for nearly 5 times longer than T95 and yet it STILL doesn't have it's historical lower glacis despite KT having it.

Come on WG!! Get your act together and fix this already. You profess to have a love of historical values it's time to put your money where your mouth is.

Is there a way to implement bigger icons, mini map, ect.. to keep it proportion to the screen? right now the map is so small that it is hard to see. I used mini maps mods in previous patch to increase the size, it was good, but 7.0 is not compartiable.

Please consider and integrate this in the game settings so it would be easier for everyone instead of looking for mods.

  142. i do not understand why so many people have so much problems with tanking down a T95 =D

if you get (relatively) close, just aim for the commanders capulae on top, it might not always hit, but with the higher tier guns, its almost guaranteed penetration and damage

    ReplyDelete
  143. So you're telling me that REALISTICALLY a shot that goes through front of the commanders hatch and out the other side does 400 or more damage per hit? Thats a load of horseshit. There is no feasible way in hell that a round impacting a hatch straight on, ( /-\ <--- ) Like this, would cause that kind of damage.
