November 12 - November 18 Poll Results

7496 players expressed their opinion on damage from friendly ramming being inflicted.

The vote results didn't show any unanimity. 52% (3926) of the players voted against, obviously voicing their concerns about the current penalty system for team damage (ramming). 34% of the voters are totally fine with the way everything works now. Some 14% don't mind any decision.

The issue is currently under consideration of game design team.

As always a new poll is up.

  2. I don't care much about the damage, but I do care if I get fined for damaging a player who rammed me with weaker tank.

    Also (and I'm sorry for this), I would like for all Ex-Yugoslavia players to visit WoT BiH fan page at www.gdhardver.com

  7. I agree with what JD said, nothing more annoying than a friendly light tank smashing into you and exploding, punishing you.

    Ariac, if you right click somebody's name in a match you can disable their radio messages. Just hold control and right click their name, not while holding TAB.

  8. I feel slightly aggrieved at the interpretation being put on this poll result. Whilst I am not against friendly ramming causing damage I do not support the current penalty system for team damage, I think it leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps the poll questions need to be considered more carefully and/or more rigourous logic applied to the interprartion of the results.

  9. I'm usually not an impatient man, but somehow my guts say they'll start the test server on Sunday, 23:59, lol

    The issue could be solved easily to be honest, like they often did in many FPS games - reflect damage. So if someone smashes into you, (s)he gets the damage (s)he'd suffer + the damage (s)he'd cause to you. You could even remove the "compensation system" from the game like this.

    Ignore currently only works on chat messages they type. It does not ignore their radio messages(audio, text, ping sounds or map indicator).

  13. I don't know how things work where you live, but the United States is a country where elections and legislation are typically decided by two or three percentage points. 18 points is a significant majority. Please disable ramming damage.

  14. Q: Does the TK system only watch out for team damage and kills ?

    Just had a match where a Pz38H735(t) chain tracked a Lee in the open till enemy spotted and kill him. Then started doing same to me. Trouble is he was doing 0 HP damage but could keep me constantly tracked. He never turned blue. So no one else wanted to shoot back.

    Why xXxDanTIRv172xXxPL[E-PBP] would risk his account to do this I dont know.

  16. I have been playing this game now for over a year. I don´t know if its policy or them working there nuts off to get the next patch out. But it’s always the same, you get notice of next patch max 2 days before. Normally this is the place you here it first.

  17. @Jar(egg)head: Lad, with all respect, the game ain't from the States, that first thing. Second - ramming shouldn't be turned off, if any change should be made to this mechanic is a one that won't fine a player who damages the tank of a much lower tier that rams into him - I had such situations a few times, when some light tank just rushed in my side/back, sometimes getting serious damage, and I was the one fined in the end, and for what? Because someone wasn't looking when he was driving? Why should we pay for other drivers mistakes? The fines aren't that big, but still, they're annoying this way.

  20. I am in favor of leaving the ramming system as is. This game needs all the realism it can get, and not getting damaged from ramming a rock is bad enough (maybe physics update will change this?).

    A) Not punishing people for ramming and keeping the damage will allow people to TK.

    B) Removing the friendly ram-damaging system will allow A-20's to troll Maus's by blocking their path.

    Keep it as is, best not bother fixing something that isn't broken; especially considering the more serious issues this game has.

    @Overlord, can we have a poll on how many people want the view range/spotting system overhauled?

  21. Never seen a poll here with a statistical unanimity. It does have however a clear majority and an even clearer margin of victory. To say otherwise is to invalidate the poll. Don't ask a question that A) you don't already know the answer to. And B) that you don't want the answer to.

    Aside from what the popular majority is I think you need to keep team damage. To remove it only encourages poor play. Don't take the shot if you are gonna hit an ally.

    Reflective damage would hinder arty too much IMO. A scout rolls into a shot (or the wonderfully tight (not) aiming dispersion betray's you) and the arty is gone as arty typically does not have the hit points to take their own shot. Let alone the anti arty griefing opportunities that could arise from reflective damage.

    I don't mind paying for accidental damage, but the damage should still occur.

    As far as ramming, that one needs work, some spastic mess without a real world drivers license cuts me off, otherwise causes the collision, he should get the ding for causing damage. if you can sort out the algorithm to apply guilt where it's due for that one, that is a situation where reflective damage would be a good idea, but only for ramming, and only if you can get the "who caused the accident" algorithm pat.

  22. After one battle in 7.0:

    1. Russian EULA agreement made me facepalm. I speak Russian so the interface wasn't that bad, but others will have trouble understanding the new menus.

    2. I hate the new sound notifications. I don't want to be notified when a tank is spotted a kilometer away. The friendly base being captured tone is extremely alarming. I haven't checked, but I sure hope I can disable it through the settings menu.

    3. Interface changes were uncalled for. Looks clunky and complicated now, even to someone who is very familiar with the current interface (can't imagine what it must feel like to a complete newb).

    4. Camos are good. I am not impressed with the current selection, but this is something that, once introduced, is easy to expand upon. I expect to see a much better selection in the future. Pricing is reasonable, but I don't suppose anyone will spend gold on permanent camos.

    Overall the game feels cheaper. Mostly because of the clunky interface and the new sound notifications. I suppose these changes are great in theory, but they just feel inconsistent.

  23. "Removed all achievements from personal crew profile barring "epic" and "hero of the battle". What does this mean. I am totally against my crews losing any of the ribbons or medals they earned during battle. I hope that is not the case here, and that if it is you decide against it. There is no purpose to taking those away.

  24. I hate to say it, but so far nothing in this patch is interesting or promising to me. The new interface looks clunky, and clumsily slapped-together. The new sound effects seem to have been recorded with Windows 95's Sound Recorder with a $2 Shop microphone under a blanket. The camo options are OK, without being really good (some tanks the textures appear to be really stretched and just look wrong, others they're OK), while the hitbox changes seem to have done nothing but enhance already imbalanced aspects of gameplay. I'll give it a proper chance once it's final and goes live, but at this point, 7.0 is a huge step backwards imo in actual in-game experience.
