I hope you have success with this, once you hear what Gnomefather's Caernarvon engine sounds like... hairs on the back of the neck stand up. And hearing an E100 fire with the HR Guns mods... just wow!
Awesome news. Gnomefather's engine mod and a crew voice mod I have installed really reinvigorated the game for me right when I was getting a bit of WoT-fatigue. I hope there is still some chance we'll get nation-specific crew voices in the future as well.
I couldn't agree more mate. The Gnomefathers sounds make a huge difference to the game play and atmosphere. Especially the reloading sounds when you hear a shell drop to the bottom of the turret lol.
How were the current ones done then?
ReplyDeleteSound "photoshop" and magic. :)
DeleteI thought they recorded of RC models. :)
Deletelike this one http://www.ww2incolor.com/d/575742-1/498x331xd.pagespeed.ic.z8yIoewUb_.jpg
DeleteIf only someone now made a soundmod to make all tanks sound like RC tanks.
DeleteI'm glad, and what about the gun sounds?
ReplyDeleteAs well. Now we have got access to a number of RL vehicles.
DeleteETA: Next two years.
ReplyDeleteSmth like that.
DeleteCan we expect this in 8.7 or 8.8 ?
DeleteNot sure of the dates right now. Guys still have to record a lot first, and then do editing.
DeleteDon't expect anything in the next 2 years I would say.
DeleteWill be sounds for each individual tank or categories?
ReplyDeleteNot sure. Definitely we won't be able to record ALL in-game engines/guns.
Deletemmmm wargaming can move up the mouse just for record the ound of it's engine?
ReplyDeleteMaus?
DeleteThe Kubinka Maus doesn't have the engine installed AFAIK. It's definitely not in working order.
DeleteNo, it's not. 100%. Otherwise we would have already driven Maus.
DeleteNice playground you have there...
ReplyDeleteis it posible this will be implemented in parts? would love to hear already a few of those
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you just incorporate Gnomefathers engine sounds and the HR gun sounds? (after agreeing a suitable fee with them of course lol)
ReplyDeleteI run both of these, and it makes a huge difference to the game!
Because we haven't established good cooperation with modders yet :(
DeleteI am sure they would be open to discussions if it was done in the correct way :-)
DeleteRight. Sent the links to our guy responsible for mod-relations.

DeleteMy biggest question now is, what is Wargaming's plan for generating a sound for the Maus' engine? :P
ReplyDeleteEither way, I am definitely looking forward to the sound of a 1,750 (1,925 with 105-octane gasoline) horsepower engine!
It was basicly a plane engine, that was used in for example a Me 410 and several other planes.
DeleteThis is really cool. Engine sounds are one of the things that would make WoT much better.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic! I am so happy the engine sounds will be changed.
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering about that since WoT Beta testing days.
Keep up the splendid work Developers!
Still waiting for my sturmtiger :)
ReplyDeleteWell here's what a full-charge (blank, obviously) cartridge really sounds like in a PaK 43 cannon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oqm4gunNTFo
ReplyDelete...awesome.
Great to hear that!

DeleteWhat about damaged engine sounds? Will you add something unusual sounds there, something squeling or anything like that?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not in the first iteration.
Deleteyou gotta make youre tanks sound batter than Call of Duty 2, Come WG, i know you can do that! There working on fish while you can make epic sounds.
