Having contacted Patton Museum, where there is a real T95, we have managed to obtain more accurate information on its armoring. So there will be a number of changes made in the near future (supposedly in 7.1 update) to improve the hitbox bringing it closer to the reality.
The adjustments are going to affect parts of side armor and sideskirts of the vehicle and will lead to 50-300% increase of its thickness.The maximum side armor value will be the same (152mm), since the overhaul mostly applies to T95 weakspots.
Performance-wise T95 is on a par with its counterparts by the way. :)

so out of curiosity and this is going to the upcoming release of the US T110. I tried to find some historical data on it and all I could find was for an M110 which is a SPG that entered service in the 60's. Where are they getting their information on the T110. I have been looking forward to it but want to read up on it prior to it releasing. Any thoughts

Good to know we won't be slowed down. Ya can't always wait on battle to come to you, if your team is good they will stop the enemy from getting close to your base. Which is a bummer if it wastes your first battle bonus.

As people above have written - its hardly penetrable for tanks, but also remark from me, with tier 6-7 RU arties, I get damage from splash of T95 very very seldom (very close hit,few centimeters from T95 - Im not speaking about the splashes from 3m away), and even direct hits give me often no damage (HE shells from 203mm cannon, from SU-14, S-51, Object212). Of course with planned future split of TD lines and other changes the game will be most probably balanced also differently, but still I can't imagine to the T95 to be even tougher.

ReplyDeleteI'm myself a T95 player and all I can say is that people don't know how to use their ammunition. They all try to penetrate instead of using HE and doing lots of damage to cannon or crew.

ReplyDeleteI honestly dislike my t95. Yeah its fun to bounce stuff. That though seems schizophrenic at best. Glass gun that breaks when someone sneezes at it. Constantly one shotable by arty. Easily flanked. Hilariously bad speed.

even 34km/h for tiger and 33 km/h for tiger 2 would be enough, cause a lot of battle is lost because tiger2 couldnt get back to base to break cap because of its 27/28kmph speed

That's called "Balance." If all German tanks were made according to their real life stats, no one would go Russian or American because there would be no point. You have to understand, this is a game, and games need balance. And if balance comes by not being historically accurate, then so be it.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go make the IS-4's armor more accurate. We just went and checked the armor thickness at the museum with a new tape measure, and it looks like the Driver's hatch was a full 165mm thick! It's very important to make sure the armor thickness matches up with historical levels. Historical accuracy must be maintained in this game, after all.
this game has one BIG disadvantage - tanks can´t be based on historic facts. because German tanks was the best for 1vs1. CCCP and USA went for quantity. therefore everyone will play German tanks and nobody CCCP and USA tanks

Claiming that somehow the Germans are wronged and underpowered when they get fantasy guns, armor, and engine configurations while the entire American tree (minus literally 6 tanks) have historical configurations or worse, and yet somehow IRL German tanks are better. Your imagination land tanks are already barely on par, what makes you think your historical configurations will suddenly fare better?

Its front armor is penned a little too easily, HE does too much damage (7.0 will fix this some, yes?) and most importantly, it's just too slow to reach battles where it's needed. It needs more speed more than anything, like you did for the Maus.

ReplyDeleteAssuming that since the 6.7 release my BL-10 shells can be bounced even by Pz IV (not always obviously but actually it should NEVER happen), I can't fully agree with this statement.
If you consider that T95 have to be armor buffed, at least bring back the "old" BL-10 as it is supposed to be the more powerfull gun in the game.
Same for Jagdtiger which seem to be food for almost all tiers IX vehicules (I don't have one but when I see what happen to them).
So if you want balance Tiers IX TD, you can buff T95 armor but don't forget to cancel last BL-10 nerf and do a global buff to Jagdtiger.

I have t95 with many games played and i consider it as most powerfull TD and maybe viechle in the game.
ReplyDeletefew times i have tested it agianst J-Tiger with giving to JT 2 free shots befor i start and most of time i won tests ware done on opne field at malinovka, distance about 200m.
Only real problem for t95 is arty, couse its slow and can hide from it that easy.
Tho i did noticed that tho most of time is extrimly powerfull there is games when everithing is going trou.
Still under no circumstances i wouldnt sell it as i think other TDs are in need of buff so that they actualy stand chance against 95.
Maybe hit boxes can be fixed a bit, but real buff should have J tiger he turns slower, has tall siluete, bit weaker gun and much easier target for arty.
Maybe with this buff i can finaly get scout medal with t95 :P

ReplyDeleteI'll also mention that in reality, the T95 was completely impervious to artillery and only mounted the 105. Imagine if they chose to do that - make it impossible to damage the T95 with SPGs but gave it a gun too weak to do anything.

ReplyDeleteA: T95 will become more resistant to side shots, both AP and HE. Skirt will absorb more HE damage, with new HE mechanics that would make a significant impact.

ReplyDeleteThe T95 is simple to kill if you know where to shoot it. TD's should be punished for being out of position, that's why they have thick front armor and a huge gun. If you manage to flank them, it's right that you should have an easier time killing them.
ReplyDeleteIf you do this, even T8 tanks will have issues killing them from the sides. As it currently stands only T9+ can penetrate them from the front. Increasing armor further is poor tank design, please look at the ramifications of doing this and how much better it makes the T95 compared to the paper-thin Objeykt 704 and explosive Jagdtiger.
I have both a T95 and a obj704 and I'll tell you without reservation that the Obj704 walks all over the T95.
ReplyDeleteThe T95 is one of the worst tanks in the game, its incredibly slow, its a huge arty target. You cannot use terrain properly, the armour is full of holes, yes it can bounce lots but once under fire = dead since there's no escaping.
I would not recommend this tank to anyone.
Too many negatives to make this tank anywhere near as fun and effective as the Obj704 which can and does alter battle outcomes.
Do any of the naysayers actually have a T95?

Gee, I didn't know that asking for realistic speeds warranted the tired old "Slippery slope" argument. "We can't give you realistic speeds on the Tiger because then we'd start having to give out realistic terrain crossing and then the swamp maps we make would be worthless because the American and German tanks would get stuck even more than they currently do and it'll be ANARCHY! I fully agree with Belrick. T95 can be sometimes awsome but usually battle is somewhere else and when it comes to T95 (or T95 crawls to it) he is alone surrounded by many enemies. The same as Belrick I fill much more useful in Obj704. And have more fun in it.

This is just a ploy to keep attention off the fact that the IS7 and IS4 are invincible from the front in 7.0. It's awesome, BTW OL, that all the major concerns coming from the 7.0 testings have been addressed by devs or yourself. But somehow the little issues of two Russian tanks that can't be hurt by ANY non-gold round from frontal WEAK POINT shots.

ReplyDeleteGod, you guys just don't get it. You see, Wargaming and The History Channel are a lot alike. Both of them have their own interpretation of what "Fact" is. For you, "facts" given to you by "experts" state that the Tiger could manage 38 kph and had amazingly good floatation over terrain. However, that's your own personal "facts." The truth is, Wargaming has their own "facts," given to them by their own "experts." And the "facts" Wargaming has say the Tiger could only manage 30 kph on roadways, and the ground pressure was so high that the tank would become hopelessly mired in anything but the firmest terrain. Your "facts" say a T-54's turret could never spin at 50 degrees a second without killing the entire turret crew through blunt force trauma, but Wargaming's "facts" state the turret could manage 60 because the crews were quick on their feet. What I'm trying to say is who's to say your "facts" are any more accurate then Wargaming's "facts"? No one can be sure who's "facts" are the right ones, because anyone who would judge the "facts" have their own "facts" that they believe in. There's no way to prove whose "facts" are correct. So just calm down, assume that Wargaming has their hands on "facts" more correct than your "facts," flip on the TV, and learn new "facts" about how Ancient Aliens gave the Stalin plans for the IS series of tanks.

ReplyDeleteThis should not happen many of times in the past thhe developers have said that historical accuracy was not what they were going for yet whenever they make a put a tank at that they think is fine but needs a buff or debuff they hide behind the fact that its historically accurate thats purely hypocritical. i have been playing this game since the start of closed beta i seriously have gotten tired of this. The only tier 9 TD right now that needs a buff is the JagdTiger. The developers continue ignoring the fact that they continue buffing and debuffing tanks that don't need that. yeah don't the developers take a reality check and take the real in game facts and make a good game out of it for once.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read this, the first thing that came to mind was "WTF?". I presume this post means that hitting the T95's commander's hatch will no longer do any damage to its health. I can just imagine facing this thing in a narrow passage on Himmelsdorf... Basically take the -750 HP and run away while you can; no hatch, no HE.

Given that pretty much everything can kill T96 from the side, and he's so slow that pretty much everything is fast enough to flank it, this seems like a fair change to me. The max thickness isn't changing, just the number of weakspots is being reduced, is how I read it, so, a good change.

I've looked like a fool in matches when my team screams for arty to kill the T95 and all I can hear is *pling*pling* as me and the other arty play with it by dropping ping pong balls on it.

You joking right?? T95 is fortress unless you find brave soul that block it from side so it cant turn. Problem is usually it dont stand alone and other team members protect it from getting blocked as they know it gave them cover. There is no 2nd tank I would have so many 0 dmg hits or bounces while I played on arty.

The comments here actually annoyed me enough to write a reply, I have a 1000 games in my t95. Yes it is a monster if the enemy sit peekaboo style behind a wall shooting shot for shot at a medium distance with any tank. BUT for that to happen the afore mentioned t95 has to be in the right place in an unarty-able position to be effective. Now take into account the laughable speed and the amount of arty safe positions on the map for that to happen and suddenly the power house t95 is more like a wasted tier 9 that more than likely hasnt the speed to get into the needed flank and make a difference.
ReplyDeleteYes the armour is great AND the gun IS powerful but at the end of the day if you cant use either then whats the point? the t-95 was designed to penetrate FORTIFICATIONS yet it has less penetration than the russian object that not only is half its weight but has a substantially better speed AND reload time.
Basically for every battle you get one chance to get into the right position to meet the battle flow and occasionally on unique maps you can actually help control that flow (like any tank that travels above 20mph+ can).
Oh and jeez the arty complaining about bounces? how many times have you seen a the enemy t95 on the map and pinged to make it a target? its an artillery magnet and with its huge flat size and speed your made a target bounces or not a 3 artillery map your dead.. And why? because you move at 13kmh every other tank in game can simply reposition with reasonable effectiveness, an artillery knows despite its long reload that tank is gonna be in the same reload arc.
Anyway whine over and yes im aware this wall of text will crit you for over nine thousand
if u going to make it as real as possible, give the german 88 its real power and range, and proper speeds for both versions of the tiger

If it was historically correct in matchmaking the pz1 and pz2 would match T26 and BTs; totally crushed, the pz3 and pz4D would face T34/76 and KV1/2; totally crushed. There are many ways and not only one to see it. The game looks for balanced tiers.

And it is not game about WWII so fact that some tank wasn't used in this war is not importent.
And you forget one importent fact. US doctrine put more importance on air force. Tanks were not considered so importent as in Germany or USSR. Most of Tigers and KT destroyed on western front where killed by planes.
And remember, against one Panther US and USSR could field around 20 Shermans and T-34. And against one KT - nine IS2. In real life price and production effectiveness are very often more important than top armors and guns. German tank engineers were making expensive armored Maybach limousines in time were they should have been making reliable cheap VW tanks.

The three tier 9 TD's each have their own strenghts and weaknesses. The T95 has incredible front armor and a powerful gun, yet it is the slowest unit in the game. The 704 is the fastest of the three TD's, has a rediculous gun, and has great slope armor, but the base armor value is very low. The JagdTiger has a gun that reloads much faster than the other 2 and turns faster, but it has weak armor and the gun doesn't do as much damage.

I have an example of why players think T95 is "invicible" when in reality it is not.
ReplyDeleteI used mine in Clanwars yesterday on Abbey.
I got arti safe behind the church in our base, and was covering the approach on the flank from behind the large hill.
Our flank fell and i knew i had 4 or 5 heavies heading my way. as far as i remember i eneded up facing 1 T30, 2 IS7's an IS4 and an IS3.
As they came up the hill into our base I managed to damage the T30 the IS3 the IS 4 and an IS7.
I could not kill any of them because as they came up they all just drove straight past me, knowing i could not turn to follow them while there where other enemy tanks following along behind me i would have exposed my side armour to.
I got surrounded, had my tracks broken and could not turn to face any of them after that.
It took them 15 shots to kill me and i think thats fair to be honest, i would not expect to ba able to defeat all of those tanks, my job was simply to delay them. (we lost the capping race by a few seconds)
T95 is only invincible if you come at it one at a time, an organised team will just swamp it, knowing the damage it does wil be spread over several tanks.
A bit of a nerf so it keeps its tracks on for longer is not going to make it unbeatable for any sensible opponent but it will make it less frustarting to play.
Ehm, germany wouldnt have 20 vw tanks instead of 1 maybach tank. Germanys economy was MUCH MUCH MUCH smaller compared to USA, UK & USSR together(and uhm rest of the world?). Even smaller than USA alone. Beside this, they hadnt enough ressources. After 42-43 there wasnt enough left to let the airforce fly as they could.

Yeah let's make the T95 historically accurate while shaving off armor on the King Tiger, Maus, etc. Howabout contact WWII Wermacht panzer veterans and ask them about the awful steel quality on Soviet tanks encountered during the war.

I have seen your point from begging. I was only discussing with part of your arguments :) And there are also unhistorical changes in German tanks which make them stronger. For example Ferdi is much faster and has stronger guns then in real life. PZIV get very strong turret with good gun. Also KT has stronger gun then in real life. And Tiger P was introduced with very strong armor. When his prototypes had only 100 mm, we got Tiger P with Ferdi 200 mm hull armor.
troo...of course they had to do that, becouse in real life usa and russia had nothing to stop the 88mm... ;) you have testamonies of american sherman tankers bouncing on a tiger at point-blank range and the tiger (88mm) spliting the top of the shermans turret in two at same range :)

so yes a lot of changes were made to all of the tanks...but in my experience the changes on german tanks were made to make them weaker when compering them with the russians...

WoT is no where close to reality you have sherman's bouncing shots that should kill them out right and tanks going down hill's no trees bushes or grass and half way down they disappear and don't reappear till they killed you an are right next to you so when talking WoT don't use the word reality seems that so far the German tanks are getting nerfed like crazy and the others are getting boosted. in WW2 you want a tank that could take hits and dish them out Germans was the one you wanted if you wanted speed Russian tanks by far was the fastest and Americans well mass production you get what ya pay for.

ReplyDeleteThat will cause much rage and pointless to do it in that way.DO NOT MIX THEM. pretty plz. U must choose between them, or maybe not. What should be the real goal of the developers? Make a balanced end game(T9-10) and make it a realistic like game for the community.
So u need to make full realistic tanks from T1 to T8 and dont even try to make it balanced. Just do it as realistic as possible with their down and up side, so every tier will have its best tank, and u may chill down every rager that its REALISTIC, and u cant do anything about it, since they are as they were in the WWII. But at T9-10, most of the tanks were just in blueprints and so on, so there is no real fact about all of their stats, and Clanwars needs balance.. i mean BALANCE and not realistic. I dont see any other possible way to go and make the community to fell good enough while playing Wot.

In fact these are not such a big buffs for T95. Side armor wont be buffed. Penetration while T95 stands on front of u IS POSSIBLE. Just aim on that huge trashbin on its roof. I have no problem with doing this (im playing T34, 20k xp to T30). T95 is fuckin slow, its also not a problem to make circles around him (mediums) or detrack and stick to him. Most 1v1 battles against T95 i won (when its spotted ofc), ofc those curtains buff can be annoying, but 152mm of skirts thickness isnt so high, while most of tier 7/8 tanks has more than 150mm of penetration. In fact - all of those ppl, who are annoyed of this are right. Making best TD stronger and nicer, is kinda strange move. After OP soviet tanks we will get OP USA tanks... So, when it will be German tanks over powering season? Maybe ill buy back my JT...

ReplyDeleteWG need to take a really good hard look at themselves. I mean, buffing tanks because they found new evidence of certain armour values? Well guess what, JT and KT have 120mm on the lower glacis which is a known value since it was built in the mid 1940's almost 70(!!) years ago. JT has been in game for nearly 5 times longer than T95 and yet it STILL doesn't have it's historical lower glacis despite KT having it.

Is there a way to implement bigger icons, mini map, ect.. to keep it proportion to the screen? right now the map is so small that it is hard to see. I used mini maps mods in previous patch to increase the size, it was good, but 7.0 is not compartiable.
Please consider and integrate this in the game settings so it would be easier for everyone instead of looking for mods.
