Public Test of 7.0. Recess

The public test server will be stopped tomorrow, November 23, 10am UTC.

We have received substantial amount of feedback and now it's time to make changes.

We would like to thanks all the testers and invite them to the 2nd stage. Restart of 7.0 public test is scheduled for November 24. The test will be restarted under v. 7.0_test2.

UPDATE. 23.11.
Server-side update will arrive tomorrow. It won't bring much changes that are noticeable for players. Client update will be deployed next week. Need some time to implement the changes.

  1. not reset, restart, maybe you should have some more patience and read what is stated more carefully, they are restarting the test to apply the changes to the test server so that they can get a better grip on how things are working

  4. I suggest these changes to the game: 1) Add average damage for each tank in the statistics. The average damage show maybe most of all "numbers" each players skill level. The average damage should be calculated into the matchmaking to makes battles even more even and fair 2) Add the % of gold ammo used for each tank (gets the money players into the open) 3) Better statistics after training and CW matches. Damage and exp made for all tanks should be shown to at least the field commanders. 4) More honor to the field commander/s. A teams field commander/s in the current CW fight should be shown with a marker or similar. 5) Removing gold ammo or make all ammo credit based 6) Training matches should have "ghost" hero achievements shown. 7) CW should have two days off each week to reduce the strain on the best CW clans. 8) Clans with areas close to a landing zone should be able to join the landing tournament.

  5. Man I can't wait til the finally release it. I am really happy with the update even if everything was not released in time. Overlord, your doing great with the info. You can't please everyone. Only thing that would make me really happy is the release of my M103. I can't wait!

    Eeeee, what for?? To make grinding easier for bad players and difficult for decent ones?? Why someone, who is bad player, should have easier life?

    Bad players shouldn't have easier life. Good players, who wants to play only with other good players, have clan wars and tournaments. Maybe WG could also make some league for them. But taking players skills into consideration in matchmaking is for me quite strange idea.

    I actually understood it that i would work like this:
    Tank A is underperforming (as a whole, not user based), so it will have "easier" matchmaking than other same class/tier tank B or C.

    Interesting idea, but would not work everytime I guess.

  13. I can see a matchmaking system based on damage dealt working, although it'd have to be tweaked for each type of tank. It'd keep the T-34s away from the IS-3s in battle, unless the IS-3 sucks or the T-34 is very good. Just an example.

    Overlord, will the second version of the test just be a small patch? We won't have to download the whole thing again, right?

    The 'unknown' tank in the end of 7.0 trailer, is a teaser for 7.1. It is the french AMX for tier 10 (not 9 right???)
    but the M103 comes with 7.1 aswell.

    It would be great that u can chose the type of shell in the countdown time... so that u are loading the preffered and dont have to lose the first second to do that (if u dont forget at last xD)...

  29. Overlord, there is something that you can change too. I know it is possible, and it would make difference.
    When entering Special Battle window, there should be restriction who can make team, not that everyone can put players in team and out.
    Also, when team is ready, there could be an option for commander of the battle to set up where which tank should stand at the beginning of the battle. This could make a little + to CW.

Hope you will give some work to upgrade camouflage in next update because those ones looks ugly i had much better fan made camouflage for free and u want to pay for something like that?Maybe try hiring fans which made camos before if u cant do it well.I expected that ill see a really historical camouflage like u promised, please try adding some optional details like historical numbers and logos of divisions in which individual tank served.

  43. What's this I hear about overmarker not going to be available in .7 patch. Most clans use it and if your going to ban it or the people using it then you will loose a lot of your fan base. Mods make games - I have been playing online since 1992 - yes with dial up modems. Quake was great with mods - mods spawn other games and encourage people to play. overmarker is located at http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?showtopic=48492&st=260

    Overlord any comments on the slope changes? There are tons of concerns on the IS7,IS4, and E-75 currently. I personally have tested the T30 vs the IS7 from the front in multiple different supposed "weak spots". The T30 bounced 23 of 25, 21 of 25, and 24 of 25, of standard rounds on the IS7. Gold rounds gave those numbers a marginal increase, but not really much to call home about. I find it hard to believe it was only a minor 2% change with these kinds of numbers.

    Overlord, a kinda silly question really. Why not split KV-1 and KV-2 already ? I mean you basically have both of them ingame already, and none of them really collides with the overall new Russian Heavy lines (as Kv-2 leads straight to arty line). Care to elaborate ?

  53. By the way was something done to SPG accuracy in the past week and a half? I noticed my M43's shells going unrealistically wide on many shots, thought it was odd, but then noticed other people mentioning that something strange had happened to their accuracy in SPGs in the past week.

  54. If I understood this correctly, they will update the LIVE servers tomorrow without any noticeable changes to the LIVE players. And without a LIVE client update.

    They will also update the TEST server and TEST client (to 0.7.0_test2) with adjustments and fixes compared to 0.7.0_test1. Probably a new test client has to be downloaded.

    The LIVE update 0.7.0 based on 0.7.0_test2 will be in one week.

  55. @Mini_Bolo: Release of 0.7.0 is end of November. How many months does it usually take between updates? There are not even preliminary patch notes for 0.7.1. The dev team probably has most of the French tanks ready, but the update will contain some more than just new tanks. It has to be merged with the changes in 0.7.0. It also needs to be tested (closed testing some weeks, public test at least 2 weeks).

    End of November plus several months plus 4 weeks is probably not within this year. More like February/March. But who knows? They might have been doing all the French/US tanks in parallel reducing the time until next release. But the closed/public testing period alone pushes it into 2012.

  56. I think WOT is geting bigger I can see that by the nr of players that are online every night, I recomand to take it easy whit the marketing campains and hire some more "heavy tier 10" devs
    + programers to get things done.
    I don't understand why u pple are working at World of airplanes and World of ships when are so many things to do in WOT make this project a huge succecs in MMORPG market beacouse there are many many future perspectives.
    Is hard to be the best but is harder to stay there.

  57. Acutally, didn't Overlord comment that World of Warplanes and World of Warships were being made by other groups so Wargameing can focus on developing WoT in house?

    The only issue I have is the premium American light with the duel 37mm Autocannons being put into games far above its capable of preforming well in. It doesn't have speed, armor or guns for Tier 8 battles, translating to about Battle Tier 10 or so.

    In that same regard, Overlord, anything being done about that?

    Yup, had the same problem with MTLS-1G14, but I have a felling that it is due to very low player pool on the test server, ie. matchmaker tries to put some players together regardless of the outcome, otherwise maybe you would have wait minutes before the right mix of tanks would come up - thats my assumption - but I might be quite likely wrong on this one :)

    Sometimes I had nice battles with it.

  60. If the IS4 and IS7 a bouncing a lot more shells, I'll stop playing. Good players who not suicide rushing and know how to angle properly are able to bounce already a lot. If this game becomes a bounce orgy, yup without me. Thx

  61. I tried to damage a T25AT with the MTLS. I found out I couldn't damage it at all. AP just bounced off, even the rear armor, although I feel I mighta been able to penetrate there had I been more lucky. And since HE is useless now, that didn't work either. So I just circled him until someone else shot me because being in tier 8 battles with a tier 4 tank is a joke.

    If someone has the T34 and is working on the components to reach the T30, and it gets replaced with the M103, can you explain how the spent, and available XP will be distributed?

    a. XP saved, components researched will be refunded, and available on the M103.

    b. similar components of the M103 will be researched, M34 unspent XP will be available.

    c. XP lost/left on th M34.

    d. something else entirely.

    I ask as I'm sure I'm not the only one who has worked to get the T34 before 7.1, but will unlikely have reached the T30 by 7.1

    Basically the T34 morphs into the M103, equipment and experience intact. The unlocked parts will be turned into equivalent unlocks on the M103. So if you have the top gun on the T34, you'll have the top gun on the T34. And if you only have the 105mm, you'll get the first 120mm on the M103.

    You do get new 100% crew though. Crew are the only things that leave with the T34.

  65. Players who have a T34 in their garage at the time of the revision will have it replaced with a M103 with the respective module setup and a 100% crew.
    Additionally they will also get a T34 as a premium tank with the old crew and an extra garage slot.

  78. I really don't want to make anybody angry here and i am not just trolling here arround, but i feel a little "disgusted" from the following situation. It is an often problem in the game. It is not a bug, it just makes people sad and dissapoint, makes players to log off. After the calm down phase (hours or days or weeks) players log in again, and whitin some battles meeting the annoying situation again. Be pleased to watch, what i am talking of. Also, my experience shows that having pure T-59s (like 7 of them as the only Tier 8s) on a team leads to losses more frequently than it does to victories. They have a weak gun and are torn to shreds by the Panther II's and especially Ferdinands.

  81. Will the HE system get rolled back to the old one? If not why? Since on the forum the poll currently is 81% of players hate the new system. Even if you think half the players that like it haven't voted it will still be 73% hate the new system. So is it fixed? Will it be fixed? And if no to both of them, why if your community wants it fixed by a vast majority?

    You got me. :) Maybe i am just a bit paranoide, becouse i am living in a country where You cannot express Your opinions, or if You do, You are screwed... Thats why i tryed to hide my name. I FAIL. Btw on my language means my forum name here exactly the same that you saw on the screenshot. However.

    /My/ experiences telling me, that with my biggest Tank: VK 3601 (H) Is a Type59 unbeatable, at least you attacking from behind, but if he rotates his turret you are off. And the VK 3601 (H) is not so agile to drive him just arround. So open battles are off. Anyway VK 3601 (H)is a tier6 Tank, the screenshot was made with PzKpfw IV. that is tier5. My Friend with the PzKpfw VI Tiger I. was also beaten by the Type59-s many many times, and his Tank is fully evolved! And reading his statistics, he is not a noob... The point is, that a tier8 Tank should don't be mixed with a tier5, or 6 Tank, especially when so big technically differences are present. Seriously, this case kindnapping ones good mood.

  85. Yes I can agree with Woodtraktor. Life for 5-7 tiers is now much harder than a few months ago and grinding is more difficult. First, they meet a lot of Type 59, which are bigger annoyance than Lowe and KV5 because you have no chance to avoid fight, Type are too fast for it. Second, V tier lights are really powerful and hard to kill for this tiers. People learned it and I see more and more platoons of T-50-2 or VK2801 which, if placed with 5-7 tiers, are devastating. Last evening I have seen such platoons just raping my teams (was playing with Tiger and Panther). Platoon of one T-50-2 and two VK2801 had together 8 kills, platoon of three T-50-2 7 kills. In both cases they easily get to bases annihilating one of our flanks. So I think game became slightly unbalanced in this case. If you get such platoon in team (battles were 7-8 tiers are top), you have almost sure victory.

    Overlord, let me give one idea: why don't you put some worning (written or vocal) telling us what did we hit in the critical?
    It is supposed to do some damage to a module.
    Tell us what it was and you will get fewer complaints about that.
    we just want to knoe what did we damage in the other tank.
    Is it simple to do? dunno. But at least try that.

    - you killed the gunner (now we know that the tank will have a slower reload)
    - you damage the track (he will be a sitting duck for a while
    - you killed the driver (he will be slower)
    - you killed the commander (the rest of the crew will be affected)

    something like that.
    this way we'll know that de shot was not a wasted one.

    Question to Overlord : Did u Fix the "Q bug"?

    Explanation: You use Voice Chat in a Platoon and a Game ends , if you try to talk to your Platoon now ,you get back into the Garage and there are lots of "Qs" typed in the Platoon Chat.
    So you got to erase them first ( or just send em like I do :P ) and click* several times to get the cursor out of the Platoon Chat window.

    AND then u got to say everything a 2nd time.

    I know how to fix it easyly -> Just make it that you have to click in the chat if you want to type something , and otherwise the cursor won't be "inchat" f.ex.


    would be nice # if u Fix that ,i can't count anymore how often i've heard : " Oh man , this damn Q "
