July 18-24 Poll Results

The results of the latest poll showed the majority of 3239 participants are waiting for new game modes (1487 votes or 45%). The votes were almost equally divided between "more tanks" (805 votes or 24%) and "improved physics" (677 votes or 20%). New features got tiny 8% or 270 votes.

  5. Regarding the new poll I still think its too early to tell.

    The jagdtiger is the best all-rounder, 704 far superior 1on1. But the T95 I've only encountered once in my Jagdtiger but statwise i'd say its the strongest.

    Yes, but will you actually change project priorities to provide future game modes FASTER than new tanks or physics? Or, was this poll just for curiosity sake, and you won't actually do anything different?

  12. T95 is a beast but can be shoved aside by a T-54, it can't turn fast enough and often gets trapped on the side by tanks hugging it.

  13. What kind of physics are you thinking of? Itd be awesome to see tank parts fly off when they blew.. Tanks fly farther when theyre blasted cruising at full speed? Projectile flight? Some days, even though my recticle completely covers the enemy tank, I STILL miss. Drives me crazy.

  14. "New features" is kinda generic, that's why nobody voted for it. If the poll would ask about "Multi-turret support" or "Camouflages", maybe more people would vote for it.

    I would just like to point out something that I noticed.

    If you add physics, as in making tanks fly off the hill, it would add enough entertainment to keep players busy enough for you guys to make new tanks, fix the matchmaking, the spotting, etc.

    Just a helpful hint.

    Yeah, as a Software engineer myself, I can definitely understand the whole "teams on projects" idea. I really do hope you take the poll results to heart and reallocate your resources to speed up the new game modes. The last thing you want is a game to get stale, and the current offering is too close to this right now. More game modes would definitely help to keep it interesting and keep people buying gold.

    Besides, this is a World War II game, not a modern warfare game.

    A: I'm pretty sure we will see all kind of strange bugs once the physics are implemented. The "funny screenshots" topics on the forums will be in abundance :)

  28. Q: Is there any plans at all to fix/get rid of Malinovka? If you put that option in the last july 18-24th poll, i believe that almost everyone would of picked it. But i would also like to see new game modes as soon as possible! :)-RazgrizOne

  31. why is everyone, in every game, always screaming for CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT?
    I am tiered of this newschool com phenomenon. Every freaking new game does this, adds more and more content, more and more grind, more and more random. Noone cares that all those games live years with bugs that where already found in alpha(beta) testing. Core problems of those games get ignored just to be able to add more content.
    I just dont get it, why people and devs (their manager/bosses what ever) prefer content over badly needed bugfixes and redesigns and reworks of the game itself.

    The reason for more and more content? Player retention. Eventually players get bored of the same old stuff over and over, and will leave. The only way to keep them playing is with new content. Bug fixes don't introduce new ways to enjoy the game, they just fix things that people have learned to live with.

    I agree, however, that the stream of content for World of Tanks could slow down just a touch so they could hammer through the bug fixes / mechanic reworkings faster.

  33. Can't wait for new game modes. Being stuck with random battles for over a year now, makes even 30 mins of gaming hard to overcome boredom. At the moment there are so many variants of tanks, so it would more or less just feel like a new skin. So i do hope it will rather be sooner than later, that we'll get some more interesting game modes :)

  37. I noticed on the test server that the post mortem bar is still present. Is there anyway to disable this very annoying "feature". It blocks the mini map and gives NO useful information

  38. I'd like to play with completly different spoting behaviour. It should be closer to real battles. So: I see the enemy if I realy see it. I can point it on the map, so my allies can look at this point. But they can see the tank, if they really see it and it is not tracked all the time. If goes into the bushes and trees nobody can see it through the plants or other things. More like in BFBC2 or COD. I know - it makes the game other game and needs new maps design for having fun (flat, desert map would be like shooting ground, the forest would be impossible to find enemies). But it would be interesting to be able to choose such game mode :)

  39. New game modes would be awesome I've read the posts regarding the game modes and the encounter battles and historical battles look like real winners! The game mode I'd really like to see is a Platoon Vs mode! Where 3 or 5 man platoons are all against each other on a large map.
    In regards to the new physics I think some improved explosion effects would be my top vote. Anyways can't wait for 6.6 thanks again for all the info Overlord.
