Before joining a *random* battle, you review the global map, see which side currently wins and which areas/cities are being contested currently. <br /><br />Having reviewed the map, you decide which side you want to be aligned with and enter basically a random battle with random people (or with your platoon, but the key is NOT WAITING for 10+ ppl to show up) in one of contested areas. The outcome of the battle will decide whether this terrain is overrun by Red or Blue team.<br /><br />(Well, you can have even three factions: Red, Blues and Black, or more. The key is that alignment can be decided on per-player (or per-platoon, per-clan) basis each time you hit "Battle!").<br /><br />Then, go from there - if you fought X battles in the ranks of Reds, you get a military rank ("Lieutenant" or "Major"), which is reset each time you switch factions. CoD zombies is what everyone thinks it will be like, but it doesn't have to be. (Paying credits to open an unbreakable building xD)<br />Make the mode VERY team based, so that people will want to play with their friends, and try to build the perfect tank lineup. <br />Don't want zombie mode? DON'T PLAY IT!<br />PvE is a sure way to go, and since you announced it as April fools... Joke's on everyone!<br />I'm sure it's already been suggested, but its worth it in my opinion.<br />Idea 2) I know this was already suggested, but PvP Campaign in a WW2 CW style map, open for tanks OF THAT ERA. That alone makes it worth it. M4 Sherman (tier 5) VS Tigers (tier 7) means that people who quit the grind to tier 10 are still able to play. A minimum battle count (2k?) will remove excess noob(ish) players.<br />Idea 3) This is the most obvious and best of them all. A better achievement system. Make it so that, instead of a weekly bonus to getting invader, you get a smaller bonus to getting it anytime. Give another bonus to getting 50, then 100, 200, 500 of them. A bonus for getting Ace tanker on so many tanks, a bonus for getting Ace tanker on all German HT, it doesn't really matter.<br />Players need to have something to keep them going, and a list of badges and rewards they can get provides that motivation. Don't make it overly easy to get these extra rewards, but don't make it impossible. (duh) <br />Idea 3.1)Cosmetic rewards: Unlock a Confederate badge emblem to mount on your tanks turret after getting 25 of them in that tank. It's a little like hats in Team Fortress 2 (which people only play to get the hats), where killing 10 people with a special event hat wins you that hat; killing 10 people with a Poole's medal wins you a special emblem for your tank, or a special camo paint that provides x% extra, depending on how 'hard' it was to acquire it.<br />In all, its very simply not so much about 'end-game' as it is about keeping players interested. New game modes do this, but take too long to come out balanced, and (in the case of playing offense on certain assault maps) are flawed after release. Physics was the greatest update to this game, and it seems to be wasted. It was released, we loved it, nothing else happened with it. It's now just a part of the game, and we take it for granted. Special premium tank (or special visible upgrades) but for limited time only, like a medal that is in-game visible and known for everyone “saying” that this player was the best in something for last month/week/day. For those who don't know, the...Bughouse WoT!!!<br /><br />For those who don't know, there's this variant of the boardgame chess where you set up two boards. Team 1 is White on board 1 and Black on board 2. When the white player from board 1 takes a piece from the black player on board 1, he doesn't put it off to the side of the board. He hands it to his teammate playing on board 2. This teammate may choose to place this piece anywhere on the board that he wants on his turn rather than moving a piece currently on the board. Both matches are played at the same time until either a standard chess clock for both games runs out on a player or someone gets into checkmate. Google "bughouse chess" for a more thorough exlpanation.<br /><br />But basically doing this with tanks. Perhaps have it where a clan can set up two teams in a "medium bughouse tank company" It requires two callers. When you destroy an enemy tank in your match, it gives your caller in the other match a tank to deploy once one of your tanks dies.<br /><br />Example:<br /><br />Team 1 plays in Match 1 vs Team 2. Team 1 kills one of Team 2's KV-1S. Team 1's caller in Match 2 gets the option to bring in a friendly tank either from a reserve or after a friendly tank in Match 1 dies.<br /><br />There are details to figure out which I won't here. But some of them are:<br /><br />Where the new tanks will spawn. Carrying bad players against teams of other bad players is not much of a game. I want to play closely matched games with and against other interesting players. Introduce some skill element in the matchmaking, even if it's another game mode. Use group ELO like League of Legends. Such as killing x heavies with a light in x amount of time. Maybe you earn kill markings on your tank or some type of small bonus. Obviously there would have to be balancing of said bonuses if there were any, but its an idea.<br /><br />Also personally I like looking at my crew and their rewards, maybe allow to option to customize crews with points earned by achievements like topgun, sniper etc. these points could be used to purchase medals for crew members. Example would be german tankers with the iron cross, then you could earn the oak leaves, swords, etc. each country would be different but I think it would be a cool way to make you feel like your tank crew is a one of a kind type deal. Maybe keep record of number of tanks you have knocked out with a ammo explosion, or list the certain tanks destroyed by your crew.. I am currently saddened at the state of the game, as there simply isn't much to do. Disappointed more or less, so I don't really play. All of it is the same thing, over and over again, or a very slightly tweaked version of the same thing in the case of Encounter and Assault. Clan Wars - well, the requirements to even be competitive are rather high, the maps are often static, and again are the same game modes, so not much is different.<br /><br />This may seem odd, but personally, I recommend something similar to the multiplayer in Mass Effect 3. Player vs Environment, with several 'rounds' of enemies combined with a new objective (or objectives) for each round, with the objectives randomly picked form a reasonably sized list of objectives. Yes, people will get bored as with all things, but this type of gameplay in particular has a longer life span than most due to its fluid, ever changing nature.<br /><br />Naturally, the way this would tie into "End Game" play is by having different grades. In Mass Effect 3, it was by having Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum difficulties, with Platinum being the most difficult but also the most profitable. Of course, in order to play in Platinum successfully, one needed end level characters. World of Tanks can attempt to do the same here. Besides having an ever changing PvE element for all players, it also makes sure there's more incentive to getting End Tier tanks in the first place.<br /><br />You also mentioned in a much earlier post that it was possible to increase the reward in high tier tanks. Going off of this, I have an additional idea that may be useful - I recommend playing with the idea of High Tier tanks being a high risk, high reward venture in regards to a player's wallet. Play well and do lots of damage, spot, capture and so forth, get lots of credit and exp. Do poorly, and lose plenty. Something that's not for the faint of heart so to say. This can be implemented into the previously mentioned game mode that I suggested as well, when using high tier tanks.<br /><br />Going back to it, players can even take lower tier tanks (but not too low of course) into a "High Difficulty" match, and be rewarded as appropriate to their performance too. Bringing that Tier X with an elite paint job, new engine sound and shells that make giant explosions instead of the normal ones. A little commander that pops out the top hatch when there's no enemy tanks in sight and ducks back in when there is. Add a "Kill marker" board on the side of the Tank for all other tier X tanks killed. Have his name appear in a different color when people highlight the tank. Visual camo nets. Extra antennas. I have been playing the game for a couple years now, and as long as you keep adding in new tanks/nations/etc I will *never* be done grinding out tanks. If I ever do end up grinding a tank line to tier 10, I will consider that to be a completed line, trophy tank, something, but that would just mean I can now try to grind a different tank line to tier 10. I guess if you ever stop adding in new tanks, I would consider the game complete once I have a maxed out light, medium, heavy, TD, and arty for every nation in the game. Oh, and for those nations that have multiple branches of heavys, TDs, etc, I would need one tier 10 from each branch.
