July 25-31 Poll Results

4184 players took part in the latest poll showing almost 30% growth. As a result of the voting for the best tier 9 TD, the votes were equally divided between Object 704 and T95 (37% each) with the Soviet unit ahead having 5 votes more. German JT was far behind having 1065 votes (25%).

Poll results do not perfectly reflect the actual performance of the three in full, actually. :)

  2. I like Malinovka, but not all the time as today. Perhaps you could simply change the chance of a map appearing? With a map of the week that is more frequently selected.

  6. So, what was the point of the Tank Destroyer poll if you don't plan to do anything about it? It is well known that the JagdTiger has some serious flaws that are truly hurting its ability to perform. Now armed with knowledge that the community does not think the JT is performing adequately, will you at least entertain the idea of buffing it?

  9. About that new poll (Malinovka), add a 3rd option: Make is less camp friendly. I truly believe most people would vote for that instead of a complete removal

    About your TD poll. Are there plans to improve the Jagdtiger since people find it weak and you basicly stated the same? It would be nice to clear that up.

  10. i hate it .. in this form ..
    dont need to remove it, but needs to be cahnged.
    for examle:
    -put some houses/rocks in the middle of the field
    -the hill is too steep, it took ages to go around with a heavy, and it makes the people camp, cuz' no one wants to go with 7 km/h for 5 minutes or so (and then beeing oneshot by a bush).. is boooooooooring
    -the swamp should be remove, put some obsticles instead
    -...

  11. I overlooked the "not" in the news, ignore the "you basicly stated the same" in my previous statement. Guess I was hoping the devs acknowledge the inferiority of the german equipment while the arty and the TD line seems ok to me. JdPzIV is a pain to lvl though.

I've noticed some weird stuff going on in PTR malinovka, when I'm on my M5 (I absolutely adore that tank and scouting with it) on live I usually have to go in the middle of the field before seeing the enemy tanks, but on PTR I scout first enemy tanks right after I leave the base and the rest shortly afterwards.

    So my question is: have there been some changes to Malinovka or spotting system in general, or is it jist my imagination running wild?

  13. Wait what? I like Malinovka, I never camp on it I'm always ruhing on hill to nice melee. But I think Malinovka should be slightly changed - make some parts of uphil road partially covered by earthwall and add one or two undestroyable buildings on hill.
    I like almost all maps, I really hate Komarin (yup, still not fixed, these earth walls on one side are too small), I don't like Ensk, too many bushes on it and I don't like Prokhorowka - too many bushes (I think on that western road some bushes should be removed and some obstacles added). Ahhh and Murowanka - I don't like that camping side, remove bushes and add some earth walls and undestroyable buildings.

  16. Malinovka is a disasterous map. It is not so much in the lower tiers when people are crazy and suicidal but in my experience, essentially the first army that moves is toast. The opposing campers gun down whoever is foolish enough to attack via swamp or north or even no-man's land.

    Many players, (my platoon included), usually charge off across the way to die and scout. Can it please become more than just two lines to camp on?

    It was a real beast IRL and everyone was completly excited when it's been released back in the beta (and still people that are joining the game), do you remember??
    But no. No there is no problem so far...Players are too silly to understand how to play. It is performing very well, right?
    Nobody like it anymore?
    This is perfectly normal, it is well known that players' appreciation DOES NOT in ANY way match how the tank is performing in the game.
    No, it is ALL about the skin and the look of the tank...

  18. Malinovka needs a redo. Put a big factory in the middle of the field so you can move up and have some better cover.

    Also I believe the JT is getting some love next patch. A damage buff is in the works.

  19. The JT is far behind because the gun bounces more shots and it's ahistorical armor is like paper with huge weak spots in its armor.

    I have more luck in my Ferdinand than I have in my JT.

Komarin is clearly the better choice for a map that needs changing/removing. if the tank traps in the middle are the devs idea of fixed, your PR team needs a serious overhaul. atleast malinovka promotes movement, even if it is only in one direction. Komarin has no movement atall.

  32. Malinovka is great for low tier battles - no hassle, just go directly and shot someone/get shot. But for that purpose the "hill part" is totally useless - no horde of Loltractors is going to flank anybody :)

    However, for higher tier battles this map is sort of a pain in you know where. Hate to get shot by someone across the field you will most likely never spot.

    What would help the map, as someone already wrote, make the "hill part" less steep and put some obstacles/cover on it and on the main field as well.

    Even loltractors like some cover :)

  34. I agree with the persons above, Malinovka becomes a pain in high tiers.
    It is really annoying when the top tier player in my team (for example Maus) quits as soon as he enters the map.

    Would appreciate a third option on the poll:
    c) Modify map - make it less camper friendly and easier to move forward (at the moment Hill is pretty much the only way to get forward)

  45. U are adding more and more maps. some are suited better for low tiers so simply keep those maps for low tiers and add some maps suited and used only for high tiers. this way you can add more maps without having too many in the rotation.

  49. What a bunch of BS. What's the point in putting up polls asking what the players experiences/opinions are if you STILL say that even though the poll shows one thing, it's not correct. Get your head out of the sand and stop flaunting your precious statistics and listen to your players, your customers, your income. We use and play these things on a daily basis and 99% of the time the majority is CORRECT. Companies with views like yours are the reason that what could be a great game will never be more than mediocre at best.

  50. Yeah these polls are just the devs pretending to actually care about what the players think or entertain feedback about the product they paid good money for. Overall, Russian tanks will never be seriously nerfed, German tanks never really buffed and American tanks will remain mediocre.

  53. Malinovka is a terrible map.

    -Encourages camping with there being slo little cover
    -No arty cover at all for team 2 but quite a bit for team 1
    -The hill. Ignore the noobs devs. The hill is damn near pointless strategically. A team takes the hill... so what coming off it is just as vulnerable as crossing the mid field is. Make the hill critical by giving hull down positions and cover vs a team not on the hill.

  57. Malinovka needs more cover and easier ability to go through the town, the swamps, and the far east side depression.

    The middle could do with cover and minor depressions to allow fire and advance tactics to prevent the "spawn and stare".

    Finally, lower the height of the hill and make the slope more gradual. Give it better cover coming up or down to make it relevant.

  58. Given that camping can be made quite everywhere, this map is pretty often one way sided as many here pointed out. But i like the map setting and changes could make it a good one.

    What i think it's real crap speaking of maps is Westfield...

    A weird think is happing today, the map was actally fun to play:)

    Like many People before: I think the map is good for lower tiers. It is actually fun to play with a loltraktor and yes in this case nobody use actually the hill or town. So maybe dont remove the totally, just make two new maps: One for lower tiers, with less garde on the hill and houses from the Church to the Town, but the rest can stand how it is. The second map would be for higher tiers. And we should avoid a to massiv camping. So I would say.. that in this map the lake on the left side can be use... It would be a good cover for moving forward against enemy tanks... It would be better then just adding some houses on the field, because people would in the case of the houses on the field just start camping there. And; Yes, make the Town more useble, In the second Map the hill can be like he is, so that higher tier med tanks can do some useful stuff (I for my case go mostly over the Hill). For the swamp: It can stay, I personal think it can be useful for some light tank scounting (like today where a 38na came through and could kill a arty and spot two others).

    For the JT. He need really some love. I dont speak just from the gun and armor, the hitbox is ridiculous. The same is with a tank which I actually love: The panther:( He is in reality just a little higher (2.99 metres) than the persing (2.78 meters), but not in game:(... and I dont want start with the ussr tanks...

    P.S. Give light tanks some mre jobs then just scouting... I would love to sneak to the swamp with a the german VK2081 or do some other useful stuff. So maybe wait a little with this command tanks... and ask your self what could a light tank doing?....

  66. add a few more bushes and a couple obstacles in center. Maybe old concrete gun emplacements. Add a few more trees in the lower 1/2 of the hill, around the town.

  72. The poll does not reflect the actual performance of these TDs because the actual win rates are here (unofficial EU server stats from the forum):

    T95: 58.16%
    Object 704: 53.43%
    Jagdtiger: 49.71/

    So the difference in poll results is not about JgdTiger but about T95.
    It seems that JagdTiger is underperforming, while T95 needs some thought...

    This map shows perfectly the problem of this game...
    70% of the players want to go with their tank directly towards the enemy, they don't need mates, only for blaming them, because of nobody followed them. The only real tactic is atack! And timelimit? If you're not dead or victorious after 5 min, than you're a noob!
    MANY players seem to have problem from changing from Quake to WoT.

    Thats the same thing, why many players are also angry about german and american tanks, because only the russian ones fit nearly this *rambo* playing stile.
    Malinovka is a great Map, of course it's also the Map with my most draws, but I'm much more suprised about this map how many possibilities you have to win there (espec. against rambos...), than I'm bored about standing some times for minutes, with no job...

    About the Tier 9 TD's
    I LOVE the Object, i hate the JT! I'm going with the other mate that said, that playing the Ferdie is more fun and effective than the JT...
    Speed, Armor and firepower is at the Ferdie much more better optimised than in the JT!
    In this game is a standing TD (espec. with this camo problems...), with that often high tier arties, a dead TD.
    And the JT was initially optimised as a standing TD from you, not that much moving and turning speed, HIGH FIRE RATE, so in this way the JT concept is a totally fail...
    You have 2 ways to improve it again...
    1. manage the camoproblems
    2. reduce firerate and increase damage, OR increase moveability (to make it more equal to Ferdi, or Obj)

    Put some rocks on the field and put undestroyable buildings in village.
    Now many people simply can't play it and I think that with some changes it would give more options of attack.

    Are you kidding me, right? The poll confirms nothing more or less just that you have to ADJUST!! I really don't understand why do you make polls if you don't even take the results into account. I know that your country has some democracy issues and strong ties to the USSR but if you want happy and satisfied customers you have to listen to them...

  87. JT needs small buff in speed(max 30 kmh),few points in turning speed,reduction that engine will go to fire to 15%,increase camo value and really redcution in gun dmg.it happens to often.

This map is bad as it is now, however it has so much potential, a few more areas for cover near spawn so that people wont get nuked in the beginning of the map, a few rocks or something in the open field, and maybe at least one building in that town. Its def a map that needs to be re visioned. It has potential but as is, it sucks. Overlord I hope you guys are taking these votes (seeing that most people hate this map) and making decisions because of them. Is that what is going on?

  94. I don't particularly like the map, but I don't hate it either. It would be nice to deter the camping in higher tiers or add some cover to hide behind on both slopes of the hill (arty can waste you so easily on that hill).

    Even though the map is not perfect, I still feel that more maps is better than less maps. I would love to see 2 or more maps released each month.

    If the 4% gap between the JgdTiger and 704 isn't enough to merit a nerf, why are you nerfing the Mouse for winning 3% more than the IS7? Or nerfing the patton for winning 2% more than the T-54?

    Also, just because the T95 wins more than the 704 right now does not mean the 704 isn't better. The tank is very new -- those who have it so fast are probably above average players, making the stats better than average.

    Same for the Jdgtiger. Many people will vote for it because they like the tank/prefer german style, not because they think its better.

  98. I think that this is one of the more balanced maps. When I say that it is "balanced", I refer to the two major play styles; campers and rushers. This map provides avenues for both play styles to coexist. I think it is important to have maps that are balanced in that way. A map that is purely for rushers will alienate the campers and vise versa.

    Keeping with this same line of thinking, a map should also have conditions that accommodate the use of artillery but doesn't give artillery a god-like advantage. Careful placement of cover in strategic places is all this map needs. A single structure in the open field would make for a strategic objective that would keep things exciting for the campers while the rushers went up the hill.

    Now that I mentioned artillery, there are a few maps that are absolutely horrible for artillery and the matchmaker should be set up to filter out artillery on those maps. A city is no place for artillery and no military tactician in their right mind would deploy artillery in a city...they would set it up outside the city and just pound the inhabitants into submission.

    Listen, this "may" come as a shock to you, but your data and methods of reason to buff/nerf tanks is heavily-heavily flawed. When you say your data is fine, while the vast majority of players say there's something wrong, there's something wrong, with YOUR DATA.

    This is like the T-54 fiasco all over again. The more people the flock to the tank, the more skewed the numbers get. The T-54 IS currently the BEST T9 medium tank, despite what Storm says. It's just that so many people flocked to it, which there are more "lesser-skilled" players in it now with the mentality that it's unstoppable since they saw "good" players reeking havoc with it, they rush out and put themselves in bad situations. When the T-54 is played right, Frankenstein is OP, like it or not.

    You guys really need a new method to test out these things.

    BTW - Please post when Test Server 3 is up with a link to the download. I want to test out how the changes/nerfs to the E-75 pan out since it was actually competitive with the IS-4.

  100. JT is worst TD i think. I play JT and missing camou + downside hull hard as a piece of butter in sun doesnt let me make a good job.
    JT as oppenent is many times less fearsome than object or T-95 they´re much harder to pen from front.

    Only then you will have a chance that many people outside russia play WOT still at end of the year.

  105. JT should have 286 pene while the 150mm+ guns just 276. And the fact that the object 704 and ISU shares the same gun is also ridiculous. T95 and JT needs to research theyre top guns ( wich are still worse then bl-10 ) Its kinda funny when ISU have the more powerfull gun then T9 TD's, and im talking about 286 pene, 750 dmg, suprisingly high rate of fire. Just bounced of S-51... REALY WG?

    WHat Have I miss something... It is the only Tank which performt well. The E-50 is okay... not as good as the T-54 (like the poster before says: In good hands unstopable), but better then the old Panther II. The E100 I dont know where to start is just sad:( really sad and I think nobady will use this tank; except people how love this tank will use it. This is by the way the point of the JT, that the Data of this TD isnt totally f**k up, that their are some players how loves this TD so mch that they spent any effort to make this TD somehow work:(

    About the E75 has some a link... if it is true I´m really disappointed WOT. I know is all the invisible hand and the demand that the russians should be better etc... and like everybody in the world they are proud their tanks etc... but I was thinking that this E-Series would be give the german tree a more... arrg I give up..   108. So you say that JT has better armor then obj? :DDD dont be silly. JT have armor just on the front and especialy lower hull is rubbish. Obj. can bounce a lot more shells, even on sides it can bounce jeez. Even a KT have stronger hull then JT. Not to mention "firebox in front" like someone said :). And the gun bounces a lot on sloped thanks to small shell. 276 on 128 is not even equal 276 on 155.

  109. I can penetrate Objekt 704 with every shot in front, when I play in KT... so, it has weak spot too ;) so, every tank has disadvantages. Good player know where to shoot. But JT has more hp, too. So i think they are balanced yet.

    Well. So you think that 4% difference in peformance is not that great when a single player's contribution to his side is about 6-7% of team total, in other words about +- 3-3.5% compared to average...

    Also, you think that T95 and Object 704 both getting one and a half times as many votes as the JT is not significant enough, and it confirms your analysis that you got from performance...

    What i see is that according to statistics, JT underperforms Object 704 significantly and T95 by miles.
    The poll confirms that public opinion also percieves that the JT is the weakest of the three.
    I dont know how you can conclude that the difference is not significant. :D

    Do you employ a specialist in statistical science? Ask him...

  114. Guys, why r u arguing here? They will obviously not listen. Oerlord told me that a T32 is the best Heavy in its Tier. That's like the ultimate fail.

    But why r u blaming the devs? There's absolutely not reason for it.

    1. They have their own System or balancing. It may not be perfect but they decided to use it.

    2. People post a lot of lies. I would not care for opinions of players who say things like: "E-75 is the first decent German tank." myself. Most "naggings" r just plain wrong. COME ON! There r only a few German tanks that really suck. And onother thing: Do not expect reality, just hope for a good balancing. WoT is not a simulation after all.

    2.5 People do not try to present their opinion. They just write angry posts. Nearly nobody tries to show the arguments which created their opinion.

    3. Success is the answer. If a lot of people play and pay, who cares about 25 people who r constantly nagging?



    I myself would like to see a different methode to messure tank performance. Clanwars with Tier restriction. That should provide a way better understanding of the performance of tanks. After all, Clanwars r becoming the heart of the game. (In my opinion - I'm not taking part in too many, because our Tank Company has to few high tier tanks)

Whoa, when your Russian players are begging US and EU players to speak up louder that you guys are going too far with nerfs on the E-50 and E-75 so maybe Wargaming would listen because "Storm" and the others are just ignoring them, there are some really serious problems you have going on there...

    I think people are reaching their boiling point when it comes to your ill-ideas of balance. Be prepared to experience a drop in players and income.

    Seriously let's talk about your "bias".
    The Jagdtiger poll and your response is a dead give away what's going on. People have been complaining for months now about it, and have proven how weak it was compared to the 704 and now the T-95, and you guys just blow them off and ignore them.

    The E-75 and E-50 got the nerf bat hard in Test 3, and the E-100 was not improved at all despite glaring issues. But still, your precious IS-4 which you guys basically admitted is overpowered and is getting bumped to T10, is STILL sitting pretty at Tier 9 now since launch, and will continue to sit there dominating for months. Why not rebalance the E-75 come the day when it faces it's new competitor at T9 when the IS4 gets bumped to Tier 10?

    The T54 is NOT the worst T9 tank, especially when played by the better players, despite what "Storm" says. We ALL know this. When you use your elementary-novice manner of balancing tanks, overall statistics, of course it's going to cater to you.

    Then you have the cherry picked and designed tanks in favor of the russians like the T-54 and IS's. And you tried to use a single source that Storm dug up to try and put the transmission in the front of the E-50 and E-75, though nearly every other document has said the changes to the hull and suspension were to allow rear-transmission layout. Pressure made you revert said change.

    Camo value in the game was a "stealth" way to make Russians stronger. Since, surprisingly, the stats you take into consideration directly places all high tier German tanks at a proven and distinct disadvantage.

    That's all called BIAS. Maybe you guys just don't understand the word in English properly. The Russian tanks are too powerful, while German tanks are weak and feeble, almost purposely it seems. Or here: "You make Russian tank strong, and you make German tank weak".

  118. Also: Using win-ratio or balancing issue is a bit flawed. I understand that u have implemented it rom the beginning, but hands down: there r many factors that could screw up the statistics. The biggest is the team. Since players or put most of the time in the middle of the matchup and not as a top tank, they probably do not even count as 1/15 of the team (this is obviously not correct for tier 10 and probably tier 9 tanks) There r other actors like platoon usage (of each tank) and skill. Yes, considering what I learned in statistics in univiersity that should balance out, but u have to consider unusal behaviour as well. There is this myth(YES MYTH) that most o the russian tanks r OP. So probably less skilled players r drawn to these tanks and they mess up your data.
    I do not know i u r using other data too. So here r two additional ideas:

    Puts more stress on the servers: Damage received and damage dealt. This is in my opinion a much more sophisticated way to balance the tanks.

    Puts probably to much stress on the servers: Damage dealt to tier x(better: to tank type y in Tier x). U will not need to monitor the reveived damage because u should be able to estimate it via your data.

    If u r not monitoring this data already it may be to late to implement it in the code. I was also tought a bit informatics in university and I understand that that kind of changes r extremely difficult if not even impossible (in some cases)

    So please think about my clan-war suggestion. If u have Tier limited tank company battles in which u monitor the winning rate and the usage of the tank(this is also very important, but I understand that u do that in random battles already), u will be in the position to keep the game perfectly balanced.

    Again: I do not know if u r using any of my suggestions (partly or whole) already. I would like to hear about your balancing methods.

    THe JagdTiger doesn't need a big-ass buff (or non at all),
    -People vote by the looks of the tank
    -People vote for what the first 20% of the people have told, or vote for what they have heard
    (For example: All Russian tanks are OP, alot of people hear this, and just tell it to other people without actually having faced the Russian opponent that matches the tier & class.)
    -Not all people know how to play, or how a certain tank -should- behave.
    (Some tanks should Snipe, some scout, some 'rush' Now what should a JagdTiger do? People doing the wrong one die and complain.
    -I could go on but I'm not going to.

    About Malinovka.
    I agree with the people that say: Change the map, don't delete it.

    The concept is good.
    But needs some fixing.

    If you win on this map really depends on the team.
    Rushing, not always good.
    Camping, not always good.
    If too phew rush up the hill, they will die.
    If too many rush up the hill, your base is undefended.
    If too many camp, they will flank you from the side
    If too phew camp, the enemy 'campers' might come to your base, own you and cap.


    I would suggest the same as some of the people above did: Replace the swamp, add obsticles (maybe in the middle, maybe more in the swamp part if it's gone)
    A must: Put some unbreakable houses down the hill.

    One thing I do must say about the fact the starting areas are different: if you try to scout the bush part, you'll scout them slowly and you will die soon.
    If you scout the part with the houses, you will scout most of them at the start, you can hide behind the houses or at the side of the houses, Going around the back here is difficult because on the other side is the swamp, and you can still get shot by some of the tanks if you try the other side.

  127. no, it pretty much DOES match the performance. the jtiger is almost useless as its so easy to pen the lower plates and the obj is a royal pain to pen, as the only real way to pen it, as i've noticed, is the very far low glacis plate. the t95 is a friggin moving bunker other than the very small glacis plate and the two cupola's

What needs to happen to Malinovka (which is still better than Komarin) is to make some sort of a barrier between the two starting points, or move the spawn a bit away, it's losing you customers when those that load up at 15:00 or even a few seconds later find out that their tanks are allready being shot at or even allready killed after a fast scout and 15 guns shooting in 5 seconds after start.

  130. T95 is difficult to play in random battles unless you're protected by your team. If arty spots you, the T95 simply cannot move fast enough to get out of the kill zone.
    Maybe it's just bad luck, but my teams nearly always let a scout or medium thru to our base and it's over for the T95.

    After eight matches I have two victories, three losses and three draws. I've survived two battles, both draws.

    I don't like to play tanks with losing histories, so I pull out the JagdTiger when I want to kill stuff. It has a 60% win rate and I've killed a couple T-95's with it, face to face.

    The T95 just takes up a lot of space in the garage these days.

  131. Campinovka needs change,i suggest something like big shells craters and czech hedgehogs (anti-tank obsticals seen on both side of Komarin island),preventing any quick large-scale rush but providing some cover in large craters in middle.
    Remove bushes around both bases (or just make them smaller).Make hill more sloped,with slightly more higher earth walls on both side with destroyble lumber packs on them.
    Make entire map more wooded,especialy hill and swamp.
    Also,make it a night map,i am tired (and many others) of daylight maps,not much but it can make it more popular.

    Now about the Jagdtiger...
    I have Jagdtiger,i have invested a lot of money and patience in it,(rammer,liner,vents,100% crew repairs and camo skill,70% firefighting,and best of all i have it for one and half month (0 days of premium)).Jagdtiger can be beast when u use it right (i relay on its high DPM and accuracy eating T95 and objects for breakfast),but Jagdtiger in 95% of cases can't be used right with its major issues,especialy the lower hull.If u are about historical facts then its lower hull could be buffed,for sacrificing more fragile travrse and engine.I don't think JT is bad TD,but like in reality of WWII it cannot achive its full potential...

    Overlord if u are reading this plese re-consider buffing JT,or at least state reasons why not.

    Malikova is great and qq about it is poor tactical skill not related to tanks but first person shooters(urban maps are rolflol and have no relation to 40.000 kg of iron carving the roads in a city map)
